NEW SUPERHERO PERSONA SAVES CITIZENS FROM BURNING BUILDING

Keep your eyes open, and don't blink, or our new hero might fly right by you!

Persona, local superhero, saved 28 people from a burning office building this evening. 3 injured, none dead, this rookie superhero has made the headlines of every news station in Seoul!

This hero has become such a hit, it makes us wonder: Who is Persona? And how did he get these powers?

The fire was said to be caused by...

Namjoon sighed and closed the newspaper, putting it down on the table and returning to his homework. As usual, the news had found some way to rope his identity into the article. Why couldn't they just appreciate what he was doing? Did they really need to know that he was a 17 year old, still in high school, struggling to feel motivated to complete his homework?

Namjoon picked up his pencil and glared at his paper. Just then, he heard footsteps come down the stairs. Jungkook entered the dining room, his circular glasses dirty and askew.

"Tinkering with machines again, Jungkook?" Namjoon asked, raising an eyebrow. "Don't you have homework, too?"

Jungkook fixed his glasses and grabbed an apple from the fridge. Biting into the apple, he said, "Well, hyung, it doesn't seem like you've made any progress on your homework, either."

"I'll call your parents and tell them that you're sassing me. I'm sure they'll drop whatever business meeting they have to teach you some discipline."

"Your parents would fly back to Korea if they found out you weren't being responsible in your studies, blondie."

Namjoon laughed and shook his head. "Blonde is certainly better than your cherry hair."

Jungkook sat across from Namjoon, squinting at his homework. "Honestly, hyung, I thought you knew this stuff already."

"I do, I'm just not motivated enough to—"

He was interrupted as Jungkook picked up the newspaper and read the headline.

"Wow," he said. "Persona really saved a lot of lives yesterday. His suit is so cool. How do you think he flies? Do you think it's some sort of technology built into his suit? Maybe he's from the future, where stuff like that is already created—" Jungkook gasped. "Oh my god, what if he has a flying car?"

Namjoon laughed and snatched the newspaper from Jungkook's hands. "If anyone's gonna make a flying car, it'll be you, kid. Now, what's for lunch? I'm starving."

"The butlers said mac 'n cheese," Jungkook answered. "I offered to help out, but they said they didn't want any under cooked pasta again. Why'd your parents hire such mean butlers?"

"Hey, we picked the butlers, you guys picked the maids. We're even."

"The maids are nicer than the butlers," Jungkook protested.

"You're just mad the butlers said you couldn't cook."

Jungkook crossed his arms on his chest and pouted stubbornly. "Maybe I am."

"There's our honest boy."

Jungkook sighed and got up, pacing around the room. "I wanna go back to school," he said, his nose scrunched.

"You want to? Willingly?" Namjoon asked, surprised. "This is new."

"It's boring here on the weekends!" Jungkook said, throwing the apple in the air and catching it. "It's just you 'n me here, hyung, and not to say I don't enjoy your company, but there's nothing to do. Plus, it's funny when you get pissed at that Kim Taehyung guy for beating you in engineering—"

"He hasn't beat me yet," Namjoon interrupted. "I have a 99.2% average and he's got 99.28%. I just need to ace one more test—"

Jungkook giggled. "It's not like you're gonna be valedictorian or anything, you're not in your last year yet."

"But that Taehyung kid has this aura!" Namjoon explained. "Like — like he knows he's better than you! I can't stand it."

"I hacked into the school data records, and—"

"Again?"

"And, his highest mark is only in engineering. He gets about 96 or 97 in every other class."

"Taehyung aside," said Namjoon, trying to distract Jungkook, "You gotta stop hacking into the school's records, Kook."

"But I do it when I'm bored. I've hacked into every kid's records in my year. I'm trying to beat my record time of 5 minutes and 18 seconds."

Namjoon shifted his textbook, accidentally pushing the newspaper off the table. Jungkook picked it up and tilted his head at the picture of Persona in all his white and blue glory. Namjoon felt his heart racing as Jungkook stared at it.

Jungkook couldn't find out— Namjoon knew he'd jump headfirst into danger if it meant helping. And if Jungkook were to get hurt because of him, well, Namjoon would never forgive himself.

"I wanna make tech for him," Jungkook decided. Namjoon exhaled, and laughed to cover it up.

"Alright, Kook, but I doubt you'll be meeting Persona anytime soon."

"We don't know his identity," said Jungkook with a shrug. "For all I know, he could go to our school. Hey, maybe I already know him!"

Namjoon laughed, the lie coming out of his mouth far too easily.

"I doubt that, Jungkook."
