"Wow...that was...harsh", Y/N said as they leaned against the balcony and watched the lights of New York move.
"So Alcazãr wants to see you dead if you do not give him the treasure in 3 months? Have you found any hint or anything else that can help you?", Y/N asked.
"If I had I wouldn't be here in New York. But I figured out that a another Dismas cross showed up".
Sam took a Paper out of his jacket and gave it Y/N.
She opened it and were looking at the pictures of the Dismas cross. The same cross which Nathan found back in prison in Panama 15 years ago.
"How is that even possible? Nate found the cross in Panama, it impossible that it's in... no way".
She couldn't believe what she just read.
"Yepp the cross is in Italia", Sam said.
"Yeah but the Rossi estate? only the exclusive and rich people can afford something there. and the cross? will certainly be auctioned for a hundred ... no thousand bills. There's no way to get it".
Suddenly Sam started to laugh and confused her.
"What? Does Alcazãr gave you so much money for...", Y/N looked at him.
"Oh...you want to steal it am I right".
Sam nodded and waited until she realized why he was standing here in her room today.
"No...nonono, forget it. I'm not going to steal it for you"
"Not for me. With me"
"Where is the difference? You want me to steal a cross"
"Y/N..."
She went back into the living room and ran stressfully back and forth until he finally stopped her.
He grabbed her arm and turned her around so she looked into his eyes.
"I ask you Y/N. I desperately need your help. As you said, I'm a dead man if I don't give Hector what he wants"
"You talk to a NYPD detective about stealing a holy Dismas cross. I could lock you up again in jail for theft"
"what would be if no one knows about it. We keep it a secret. Please I need you. Come with us and we will find Avery's treasure in common. as a team"
"Us? Nathan is coming with you?I thought he had left the whole adventure story behind...why would he...-", she got interuppted by him.
"Y/N, come with us. Like in old times, remember? Only the three of us?"
She hesitated for a moment.
She looked down and thought about his offer.
She was actually took a break since 7 years. Since her last adventure with Nathan Drake and the others in El Dorado in Spain, which was the reason why she ended her treasurhunting.
They decided to live a normal life. So Nathan married Elena Fisher, an former Reporter for all thouse Treasurs.
Y/N visiting them sometimes, telling how life is. Sometimes they talking about the adventures they went throug, which Elena took part of it too.
When she stopped treasure hunts, she was trained to be a detective. Before that she was a normal, boring police-officer on patrol and parking tickets on the cars.
Now she is investigating murder cases and getting all kind of murder into prison.
That's her life.
And she has been happy with this life so far. But now she has to decide if she will sacrifice her life for the person she loves or if she will let it go and keep happy with what she has. Love or career.
Past or future.
Yes or no.
It's hard to decide when you're about to grow up.
If she chose a career, she could go through any file or old case with the help of the NYPD.
But if she chooses Sam, the precinct could get wind of it and find out. Her career and the chances of finding the murderer of her parents would be gone.
But what if Sam is right and nobody needs to know about it.
Maybe she could share her life with him after the treasure hunt for Avery's treasur. It would be a great start for both of them. They could plan their wedding again and travel. Not so much as that she would wish that.
But if something goes wrong, all she hopes for could break down and her life would fail.
Career or literally life.
He lifted her chin to look him in the eye.
"I promise you that I will protect you and you won't be hurt, I swear on my life, I need you".
She was silent and did not know what she should do now. But she gave up and listened to her heart and ignored her thoughts.
She nodded her approval, which made him smile. He took her and hugged her and kissed her head.
"Thank you, I'll make sure you're safe out there".
So they stood for a few minutes. In the arms of the other.
