After escaping the orphanage, Sam, Nathan, and Y/n drove to a house with probably ten fountains in the garden. Garden is an understatement. This property is an entire city park without visitors. The lights turned off, the bushes and trees covered the walls, adding the effect on uninhabited. The trio sneaked through the open window and searched the house under the dusty planks and boxes to retrieve the sold notebooks from Cassandra Morgan, Sam, and Nathans deceased mother.

The room was filled with antique items. Vases from ancient Greece, weapons from the late 16th century with pirates, and some kind of guards. And some sarcophagi stood unprotected in the corners. When the three broke into the only locked room, however, they found several books, a wide desk, and a huge leather armchair. And finally, Nathan found the cream-colored books with white covers in a box that once belonged to his mother. But before they could leave the house again, a gun pointed at them by an old woman. But things got worse when she pointed the gun at Nathan because she saw the white book in his hands. He made it clear to her that it was his mother's book. To the relief, she put the gun down and sat down on the armchair.

"You're Cassandra Morgan's boys"

"You knew our mom?", Nathan asked and went a few steps forward.

"Your mother was the most brilliant historian I have ever known. But then her illness it- ...I'm sorry"

"Did she ever tell you her theories... regarding Sir Francis Drake and his heirs?", she asked them.

"Sir Francis Drake didn't have any heirs", Nate answered.

"That's what history tells us. But your mother, and her partner, and I believed otherwise. Learning that old pirate's secret is one more adventure I have to let go"

She said with full enthusiasm, adding a bit of tension to the story of Cassandra Morgan.

Y/n, who stood behind them during the reconnaissance and perked up her ears in awe, also approached the woman.

"The partner. Was he a historian too?", she asked.

"Oh yes. He was the smartest, bravest, and most stubborn of the three of us. He had never given up, so he had to leave his family to complete this pirate expedition"

"He left his family just for a treasure?", she asked the woman confused.

"Not just for the treasure. He wanted to prove history. He left and his wife flew to Russia"

Sam also took part in the conversation and asked: "So now his wife and child live in Russia?"

She shook her head in frustration and sighed.

"Unfortunately, no. She gave her daughter to a catholic orphanage, as far as I know. The poor child. She was only three years old and has lost her parents so fast"

From that moment on, Y/n became aware of how the tragic story was fitting into her past and she wondered if she's the abandoned child. She took her only chance and asked for the family's last name. She looked at Y/n in surprise and gave a small laugh.

"You ask a lot of questions for a young kid"

Suddenly the police sirens sounded.

"Uh, so... are we off the hook?", asked Sam.

The woman got up slowly from the chair.

"Wait. But the family's last name", said Y/n, helping the old woman to stand up. She was about to say something, but her speech fell silent and her breathing became harder. She completely collapsed and the worry turned into panic.

"No, no, no, no"

Sam knelt by the unconscious woman and laid his head on her chest to hear the pounding of her heart. "Sam?"

He shook his head.

"What now?" Y/n asked in a panic.

"We're fleeing" he replied and dragged Nathan to the window. But Y/n stopped in front of the dead body, which was her last hope for her answer to her past. Sam grabbed her wrist and pulled her close so that he put his hand on her cheeks and looked deep into her eyes.

"Listen. She was sick. There is nothing we can do for her"

"But- she knew... she knew it", she stammered.

"Y/n we don't have time. Come on"

He pushed her slightly to the window, and together they fled from the police.
