"Come on! Nathan, Y/n, Victor! This way!", Sam called and ran ahead.
After they reached the volcano and now reached the top of the mountain, they found another watchtower from Avery's people.
"He seems excited", Sully noticed as they squeezed through the narrow walls of the tower.
"Hey guys... Come check this out!", Sam called.
The last time Nathan, Victor and Y/n squeezed through a narrow path and finally discovered a Saint dismas cross and a large engraving on the stone wall in the background.
"So what do we got?", Sully asked.
"More sigils. There's our boy Avery. . And that's, um...", Nathan said, trying to identify the other signils, but hesitated when he saw the other unknown pirate sigils.
Sam continued:
"That's Adam Baldridge. That's Joseph Farrell, and that's Richard Want"
"Hm. Pirate captains", Nathan said grinning and bumping his brother with his elbows.
"All right, so maybe yo pirate pool theory wasn't so ridiculous after all, Y/n", Sam said turned to Y/n and grinned at her approvingly.
Y/n just gave him a look that showed that she was mostly right.
"Let's see, what do you think the trick is here? You gotta push a button, pull something?"
The Drake brothers started touching the Dismas cross everywhere, hoping there would be a trigger for a secret passage or something like that.
Y/n looked at it, but not at the cross, but rather focused on the wall with the engraved seals of the pirate captains.
"Boys. Whenever you're done fondling poor Saint Dismas, I think you might want to come take a look at this"
The brothers moved away from the statue and joined Y/n.
"The trapezoid is obviously the volcano. The crown, that's King's Bay. We've got ourselves a map, gentlemen"
"Y/n, you're a goddamn genius", Sam said enthusiastically.
"You hear that, Nate? Genius", Y/n said with pride and grinned at Nathan.
"Okay, so then the other sigils...must be the towers from Avery's time"
"Well, I mean... our treasure's gotta be in one of them, right", Sam said.
"Yeah, but which one? I count twelve towers", Sully said.
Suddenly Y/n smelled smoke.
She looked around and found a cigarette on the floor.
Still fresh.
"Hey, uh... Sully. You didn't start smoking cigarettes by any chance, did ya?"
"Looks like we're not the first ones here", Sully sighed.
Suddenly a scream sounded and the ceiling of the cave was blown up.
"Fire in the hole!", a mercenary screamed.
They immediately took cover and took out their weapons.
As usual, shots flew again in the room.
When Sully, Nathan, and Sam killed almost all of the mercenaries, only one remained.
The cave fell silent.
Y/n hid on one of the walls near the armored mercenary and slowly and carefully approached him.
She could see him targeting Nathan, but just before he shot his shotgun, Y/n jumped on top of him.
She tried to take off his helmet with full force, but he threw her over his back and now pointed his gun at her.
She looked for a weapon nearby, but to no avail.
The mercenary put his finger on the trigger.
But before he could shoot, Sam threw himself at him, took off his helmet and brutally beat the mercenary.
"Did you want to kill my girl, huh ?!"
Sam got up and spat on the dead mercenary.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, yeah..."
She said and noticed his bloody fist.
She looked gratefully at Sam.
His girl? ...Did he really say that?
Oh god I feel like a teenager who has a crush on the pretty boy in Highschool just because he protected her, she thought and quickly ran back to the wall map where Sully and Nathan looked at another map from a mercenary.
"They figured out the towers too", Nathan said.
"Locations, sigils, the works"
"So now what?", Sully asked.
"Now what? Now we're screwed. Okay, because there's four of us. And there's God knows how many of them? And they have a head start", Sam complained.
"Yeah, but they don't know which tower to go to yet"
"That's great, Nathan, cause neither do we"
Nathan looked at the coin they took from Scotland and noticed the scales engraved on the coin.
"Yes we do. Look"
He approached the wall map and saw how identical the seal was to the coin.Unfortunately, it also had similarities to another seal on the card.
That left only two towers to search.
"All right. Y/n and I gonna take this tower. You and Sully, take that one"
"No, no, no, no,no. Rafe's guys are all over these towers by now", Sams little brother said.
"Exactly. So if we wanna have a chance to catch them, then we've gotta split up"
"Sam, just hold up a second, will ya?"
"Nate, he's right. These towers are at opposite ends of King's Bay", Y/n said.
"No way. You have an unstable wound, if you get them you're easy prey for them," said Nathan.
"I've been fine so far"
"Yes ... so far"
"Nathan, please ... if we don't find the towers quickly, Nadine and Rafe have a head start"
Nathan sighed, but agreed to the plan.
"Damn it"
Skip ...
Sam and Y/n got into one of Shoreline's SUVs.
"If you run into any of those Shoreline clowns, you call us, okay?", Nathan said.
"See you soon"
Was all they said and drove away.
Nathan sighed.
"C'mon, Nate. We gotta hurry", Sully said.
They also got into the car and drove to their tower.
The ways parted.
