Chapter three- protection

Toni's pov
I sat silently shaking as my mother handed me a warm mug off hot chocolate with four small marshmallows. "Toni talk to us" my father said playing with his short brown hair and his brown eyes looking at me sad "it's not possible!" I said standing up and running my hands though my now down hair "how the hell is that possible...it isn't. Wolfs are real but humans that turn into wolfs that's impossible" I ranted getting frustrated with this whole situation "calm down Toni I know this is strange and new but it's real, you are a ultra rare werewolf called the dark sun, you will be the next Alfa off our pack and you will finally meet your mate" my father said earning a glare from my mother "what do you mean?whats a mate?and what's a dark sun?" I asked sitting back down next to betty who was silent and looked between my mom and dad "well a dark sun is just a werewolf but...better...I guess and a mate is...well...is a soulmate someone you will love for the rest off your life" my dad said awkwardly making me groan and slowly slide off my chair "betty? What is that look for?" I heard my mother say curiously making me sit up and look at the blonde girl who was looking at us a little scared "I might know who Toni's mate is" something inside me got excited which I think my dad said was my wolf but I just groaned "shut up my name is Emily now listen" I instantly signalled for betty to carry on "well last night toni was moving around a lot and usually she never moves and sometimes I think she is dead...but anyway I was trying to make sure she was ok when I seen a red lip stick mark on Toni's cheek" it's took me a minute before I realised who she was implying I jumped to my feet "what?no are you crazy! I hate her I could never love her and she could never love me you definitely have this wrong it was probably the light or you where seeing things" I raised my voice and betty looked at me sympathetically "Toni you said her name" I growled even Emily wasn't happy with her as my mate "Cheryl blossom is not my mate" I shouted grabbing my motorbike keys ,running out the house, jumping on my motorbike and driving as fast as I could down the streets."Cheryl isn't our mate.no.she can't be. She hates us"my Mind raced "but she is very pretty" Emily interrupted my thoughts by stating "stop it Emi that's not funny" I thought a little annoyed but then my wolf seemed to get happier "Emi? I like it" she said I smiled happy to finally be able to think about something else "me too" I added as we where getting closer too pops "should we get some pops?" I asked and emi immediately agreed pulling me in the direction Of the diner. I quickly jumped off my bike as the smell off the food made my stomach growl. When I walked through the door I was greeted with pops sweet smile "well if it isn't my favourite customer but where is your partner in crime" the older man said happily my smile weakened as I said "she was busy and am not feeling good" his arms instantly wrapped around me "how about after you eat you throw on a uniform and help around the diner I know that makes you feel better" he said letting me go and watching as I nodded excitedly. The man patted my head and showed me too a spare booth "usual?" He asked and I nodded then thanked him as soon as he was distracted with another customer I sighed sadly. The only reason I like helping around is because it gives me time to think and I also get an excuse to not talk to people I don't want to talk to (although I have to talk to the customers anyway). "Toni topaz right?" A voice spoke making me move my gaze from out the window too the raven haired girl also known as Veronica lodge that was stood in front of me looking at the floor "what do you want?" I asked coldness in my voice she seemed to whimper but she sat in front of me "I just wanted to say am so sorry for all the pain I caused you and my B over the years I was a bitch and I don't deserve your friendship am so sorry" she whispered her words but I heard clearly and I could tell she was sincere but I don't care she has no clue with the amount of pain and suffering her and her dogs put me through. "You're joking right? Seriously? You where more then a bitch, none off you or your friend know the shit you put me through so do not expect me too like you the only reason I haven't left your body in a ditch in the middle off nowhere is because you and your friends are apart off my pack." Veronica looked at me in shock then nodded sadly she stood up and went to walk away but I grabbed her arm and pulled her into me "but...I respect you for getting the balls too admit you where wrong...hurt betty and you won't get a second chance" I whispered in the girls ear before letting her go and watching as she tripped over herself while trying to leave as quickly as possible. I chuckled then got comfortable in my booth again while I was waiting for pops to bring me my food emi carefully said "what did they do to you that makes you hate them so much?" I sighed before answering "they bullied me for years because I was different and Cheryl was the worst" after that Emily was silent. It wasn't long until pops came over with a bright smile and my food on a plate in his hand with a chocolate milkshake "there you go, once your done you know where the uniform is" pop said friendly then walked off not before me saying "thank you and I wont take long" I stared down at the burger and chips on my plate and smiled trying to stay positive. It only took ten minutes for me to finish my food and drink then I was up out off the booth ,behind the desk with a uniform on and taken orders for the customers. Time flew by and it was almost time to close when I heard a familiar male voice "hello topaz so I hear you are our next Alfa that's quite sad I could do so much better at protecting the pack" there where two giggles then when I turned around I seen reggie, another girl and chuck (he is also a huge asshole) something about reggie a face seemed extra punchable right now. "What can I get you three today?" I asked nicely trying to stop emi from taking over and doing something stupid, something I will regret. "Oh no we don't want anything, we are here too remind you that you aren't good enough too be a Alfa" I smiled probably looking crazy "great...well you reminded me and we are closing soon so please leave" I said my jaw clenching and fists balling into a fist they all laughed and left running into the woods next to the diner. I stood looking at the floor in a empty diner when I heard pop shout "close up for me something has happened at home and I need to go" I nodded grabbed the keys that the older man threw at me then he rushed off into the now dark sky. I locked the door and sighed happily to finally be out off the uniform and back into my normal clothes suddenly a sweet smell off cherries flooded my nose making me whip my head around trying to see where the smell was coming from...but there was nothing there, I was stood in an empty parking lot. "Toni" a sweet weak voice spoke from behind me I froze and listened as emi went crazy with excitement "no" I whispered before slowly turning my eyes met with a pair off light brown eyes then my eyes drifted to the red almost fire like hair then to the girls red,plump,soft looking lips. Emily was going crazy and kept chanting "mate, mate,mate" I shook my head "what do you want?" I said coldly earning a growl from Emily "Toni...I know-" I walked closer and grabbed her red jumper and pinned her too the wall off pops "no, you know nothing, you are not my mate so get that out off your head I fucking hate you, you have no idea what you did too me. I almost fucking killed myself because off you do you really expect me to forgive you? and then welcome into my life with open arms?" I said Emily also becoming angry not at Cheryl but at me for saying this and hurting the girl. I let go off cheryl by throwing her too the floor "just go back to your dog off a boyfriend" I sighed and got into my motorbike and started the engine but I immediately turned it off when I heard a male voice shout "Cheryl you stupid bitch do you really think you could leave me for that cunt?" Emily growled and made me get off the bike immediately. Cheryl was still on the floor but when reggie jumped out off the bush she stood quickly and looked at me with fear in her eyes making me sigh "come here!" I demanded to Cheryl and she happily did I kept my distance from her but also was close enough to protect her. "Back off reggie you are scaring her" I said my focus completely on the boy with complete rage in his eyes stood in front off me. "Wow hiding behind somebody like always Cheryl" reggie said his eyes glowing yellow with anger "reggie please stop I have told you we are over you aren't my mate" Cheryl said stepping out off my reach making Emily growl. "Cheryl please baby don't do this...I don't know if this is a joke just come back to my place and we can talk about this" reggie pleaded I looked at Cheryl and she hesitated so I stepped in "Cheryl if you go with him I can't guarantee I will be here next time but come with me and he won't hurt you again" I said silently hoping she would come with me "I would never hurt Cheryl I love her" reggie said walking closer to me, Emily growled loader making me growl too " am not stupid...I see her bruises and cuts so if you love her why do you hurt her?why course her pain? It's because you don't love her you just love the thought off having a gorgeous girlfriend that will fuck you what ever you want" I said now getting pissed as well reggie just looked at me even angrier and I looked at him just the same until I felt my body tingle and I was getting pushed away from the boy "come on just take me home" Cheryl sweetly said but this wasn't good enough me and Emily weren't satisfied "get on the bike and look away" I said looking into Cheryl's deep brown eyes, Cheryl hesitated but then nodded and walked behind me "do you think it's fun? Does hurting girls make you feel like a man? Why don't you try that with a girl that will beat your ass? You scared?" I taunted reggie happily feeling really weird like I have no emotions or remorse. He challenged my by turning into his wolf and getting low to the ground but I can beat him without turning "this will be fun"
