Chapter 12

"SISKA!!!" Summer started storming towards us.

I'm going to die.

'I honestly wouldn't mind dying by our mate's hands'

'WHAT ARE YOU! A MASOCHIST!!!! I'M NOT READY TO DIE YET SOL!'

Summer is now right in front of me. Super pissed.

My heart is in an ultra panic mode.

She grabs my shirt collar. Thinking that she was going to toss me 50 yards away or something, instead she.... KISSES ME!!! I swear, my emotions are all over the place. First I was terrified to death and now I am on cloud nine! Her lips are so smooth and soft, almost like cotton candy. But sweeter, if that's even possible. I can feel the overwhelming sparks move all over my body.

'WOW, WOW, WOW!!' mine and Sol's thoughts were the same.

I didn't want this feeling to end, but sadly it did just as fast as it started.

When our lips finally part, she stays close and growls lowly.

"Mine"

I nod frantically.

"Yyy...Yeah, yeah. Yes. Yours" My voice squeaked. I'm pretty sure I'm blushing heavily right now, but I'm too focused on what just happened to care.

Summer starts to pull back into the house, and I pretty much forget everything that happened before the kiss. And a little after.

When my brain finally calms down and I'm but to my senses. I find myself sitting in one of the chairs at the dinning table, with an empty plate in front of me.

"Where's my food?" I ask still dazed a little bit.

"You ate it" An annoyed voice next to me said.

I don't remember eating?! I wanted to actually taste my food.

'I tasted it! It was delicious!' Sol said happily.

'Was I the only one out of it?!'

'Nope. I was for a bit, but then food came and I snapped out of it' Sol sounded so proud of herself.

I sigh and turn my head to the voice earlier. I turn my head left and just noticed that Summer was sitting right next to me. She had an annoyed look on her face.

'Oooo, she still mad at you' Sol teased.

I get scared and excited at the same time to what Sol said. Summer is mega scary when she's mad...But I wonder if she'll kiss me again.

'Probably not idiot. She's gone to super mad to just annoyed mad' Sol said matter-of-factly.

Now that my senses are clear and she calmed down a little, I should probably talk to her. I quickly look around the dinning room. Everyone was finished with their meals and were just chatting now. This was a great time.

I grab Summer's hand and get up from my sit, she gets up too because I pulled her up a little. Before I leave the table, I turn to my dad and mom who are sitting at the head of the table. I bow my head.

"Thank you for the meal! Alpha and Luna!" I yell so they can hear me over the others who are talking.

They look my way and give me a quick nod of acknowledgement, and continue their talk with Alpha Conner and Luna Annalise.

With that I take my leave, pulling Summer along with me. I start to head down a long hallway and end up going into the guest room Max was sleeping in before. I lock the door and stand in front of it, so she doesn't try to leave while I'm explaining.

"Why did you bring me here?" She asks with a hint of annoyance.

"Look, I...I know earlier looked bad. But me and Evie are just good friends I swear"

She had a confused look on her face.

"Then what was all that talk about a date?" Her voice coming out a little softer.

"I promised I'd show her around the town. She's only been here a couple weeks and I wanted to show my future sister-in-law what's around here" I say calmly.

"Well you two looked extra comf... Wait. Did you say sister-in-law?"

"Yeah. Evie is Cole's mate"

She stands shocked for a minute.

"YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT EARLIER!!"

"WHA...I COULDN'T WITH YOUR MOUTH BEING IN THE WAY!"

Her whole face goes scarlet red at my words. And soon so do I as what I just said processes.

"U...A...Aahhh.." I stutter out to try to find words.

"I'm Sorry!" Summer yells out, startling me a little. Her face still red.

"W.. Why are you sorry?"

"For misunderstanding you and kissing you without your consent" She says as she looks down at the ground.

By her voice I could tell she was sad, or more disappointed? By her actions.

I place my hand on her cheek, and lift your head so that she'll look at me.

"It's okay. I probably would have reacted the same if I saw you acting that way with someone else....And...I didn't really mind the kiss" As I say the last part I can feel my cheeks becoming red again.

She smiles at me, either because of my words or my extremely red face right now.

'It's probably because of that doofus face of yours' Sol comments.

'You always love to take jabs at me'

'I aim to please' Sol says cheerfully.

Me and Summer continue to just talk and get to know each other more. We talked about everything, from her pack to mine and our lives. I found out that she's an only child and that she loves roller coasters, but she's afraid of heights. Which must be hard.

I told her all about my family and crazy brothers. Even about Cole's situation with his mate, which she said she would help with! I definitely needed more help to get that boat moving.

We also started talking about random stuff. But everything she said was honestly the most interesting things I've ever heard. From favorite animals to talking and referencing funny memes.

I always wondered what it would be like to have a mate. My mom always said it was like drowning in a calm sea that is warm and holds and protects you.

Honestly.... I think I'm already sinking.
