"Where shall I take you to eat angel?" Asked Crowley as he looked over at me through the shade of his glasses.
I straightened against the park bench and glanced down to my clasped hands. I thought for a moment as dates of time and locations of restaurants went through my frazzled brain.
"A sushi place I suppose?" I finally spoke after a minute of silence as I looked back to Crowley. "Near central London," I added as Crowley and I began to pick ourselves up and stroll out of St. Jame's park.
"It's been years since I've had sushi," spoke Crowley as he walked along side me, his fingers tucked away into his jeans pockets.
"Well consider today a sort of refreshment," I said.
Crowley rose his eyebrow slightly and we slid into the seats of his Bentley. Crowley snapped his finger and of course Queen began to fill the vehicle. "Good Old Fashion Lover-Boy" played.
🎶Ooh love oh loverboy🎶
🎶What're you doin' tonight, hey boy🎶
🎶Set my alarm turn on my charm🎶
🎶That's because I'm a good ole-fashion lover boy🎶Crowley kept one hand at the wheel and the other he used to tap to the rhythm of the song. Civilians honked at the speeding Bentley from their vehicles as I began to tense up. Crowley seemed most definitely indifferent as he leaned into his seat and lazily looked forward at the road.
"Do slow down Crowley, London is no place to race cars," I spoke in a tight voice as I gripped the edge of the seat.
"It could be you know, I could make it into a racing arena of sorts," he answered smugly.
"I beg you not to," I replied as I focused my attention on the arriving restaurant.
Crowley parked at the edge of the street and and the Queens music faded as I unbuckled and made my way out of the car.
We approached the entrance and I sped to hold the door for Crowley who smirked as he entered. I followed in after and closed my eyes as I inhaled the fresh smell of the sushi restaurant.
Crowley plopped into the seat of a table and I followed suit. Crowley slouched into his seat until his legs grazed my own.
I sighed, "Could you please sit a little more civilized?" I complained.
"I don't think I will," he answered.
I huffed but was interrupted by the waiter who appeared by our sides. I said my polite greeting in the fluent Japanese that I had learned as the waiter smiled and turned to look at Crowley.
He sat stiffly as he stared at the waiter with his eyebrows furrowing into confusion. Crowley then averted his desperate gaze to me as I smiled and spoke for him. We ordered and waited for our food to arrive.
"And after our meal I'll take you back to the bookshop?" Asked Crowley as he straightened up in his seat.
"Well where else would we go?" I asked.
He shrugged his shoulders in response as he looks down at his fingers. Small talk floated between the two of us as we took turns asking questions and making commentary to each other.
Our waiter came back as he placed down our plates of sushi and our set of chopsticks.
I grabbed my chopsticks expertly and before digging in I glanced at Crowley to see him staring at the chopsticks in confusion.
"Why not just eat with forks... the Japanese have gotten so sophisticated with these things," muttered Crowley who held a stick in each hand.
I chuckled and held my chopsticks more loosely in my fingers as I turned to him.
"Look at how I hold them and copy me," I spoke.
Crowley grumbled under his breath as he complied with the order. He carefully placed his fingers around the area I held my own as he held onto his chopsticks.
I smiled, "Very good," I observed.
"Oh shut up angel," Crowley grumbled as he shakily grabbed a sushi in his chopsticks and held it close to his mouth.
The sushi fell apart and its contents spilled back into the plate at Crowley scowled and pushed away his plate.
"Won't you eat?" I asked hiding a smile.
"No," he answered curtly.
I took a sushi in between the stick as I held it away from myself and it turned to Crowley who was giving me an odd look.
"Eat," I urged as I held up the sushi close to Crowley.
"This is ridiculous," he spoke.
"Indeed," I said.
Crowley opened his mouth to say something else but was interrupted as I shoved the sushi into his half open mouth. Even through his shades I noticed how wide his eyes went as he chewed slowly. I smiled warmly at him as I began to dig into my food.
Crowley remained slightly startled as he chewed and clasped his fingers.
"You keep surprising me angel."
