So, since June is Pride Month, I'm going to share about my first time knowing about homosexuality.

Growing up in a quite strict household in Malaysia, where homosexuality is heavily banned and will be punished in public once found out, I've never seen or heard about the words 'gay' (except for 'happy' gay- y'all know what I mean 😅 ) and 'lesbian' for my entire life. I'm pretty okay about it, and nobody talks about it.

I first learnt about them via Wattpad, which was last year, where I first started using the app. I was reading a book from my private library when I went through a post where the girl was talking about being 'taken'.

First I thought 'Wow, she has a boyfriend? Congrats!' But then, the photo shows her with another girl leaning on her shoulder. So I assumed she has made a best friend. I congratulated her anyways.

Then, I learnt that the word 'taken' can be used for gays and lesbians as well, which means they are now in a relationship. Curious and somewhat puzzled, I found out that boys and boys, as well as girls and girls can be together as well. I was initially shocked, asking myself whether or that it will work. Will the relationship work out fine? Are they able to have children? Does the government of their place accept it?

Turns out homosexuality is pretty normal outside of Malaysia, and for the second time, I was shocked. 'Isn't it illegal?!?' I asked myself. But I still respect it, since it's a thing and people cherish it. When I saw news about legalising homosexuality, seeing that they're all happy, I myself felt happy for them.

Then I realised that they could get married as well! That's pretty shocking to me at first. But then, I warmed up about it.

Soon, I remembered about the post as I looked back. The girl was taken... Oh! Now I finally know what it REALLY meant! I was mindblown as it's like a plot twist to me. I still feel happy for them, and I wish them Happy Pride Month.

Well, sadly, I couldn't find her account anymore, but we still managed to keep in touch, since she has Messenger. :3

Hope I didn't offend anybody with this post... 😔

So, overall, have a pleasant day, and a Happy Pride Month, everybody!
