The news of the incident was spread like wildfire in Fearos, people were furious about what they heard. They were shouting slogans outside the Army's headquarters. They demanded the burning of Walbur. People were in a rage. They wanted revenge and hanging of the committee members of Walbur.
Walbur, on the other hand, was filled with mixed emotions. People were partly angry and partly happy with Larry's behaviour. They were waiting for Fearos to act. They knew that Fearos will take some decision which will make Walbur suffer. People were somewhat satisfied that they finally told Fearos what they wanted to, through Larry Hayden. But, they also criticized Larry for his actions and feared its consequences.
General Vaughan somehow kept calm, he thought about the incident. He saw people angry and ready for a War. He thought that Walbur's apology would not be able to compensate for what mess they made, they should undergo agony and mental stress. He made up his mind about what he was going to do.
Davis barged in Larry's office, who was sitting with a wet and cold cloth on his eyes and laying. Davis said, "Are you serious? Do you really want to relax now? After what you did there. We decided to stick to the code, but your big guy doesn't care about us and this goddamn city". Larry furiously got up and said, "Mark, I did this for the city, someone had to say it. I hope they look into it and make things right". Davis laughed sarcastically.
He said, "Really? You 'HOPE' they look into it? Don't bullshit yourself, they are god loving people, they love the Lordess more than anything and you insulted the Lordess herself. You think they are going to think 'straight', absolutely yes, they will honour your angry ass with gold and silver. Don't think silly, Larry. What you did out of anger might as well be the end of us. We also love the gods, though not as much as them, don't forget, we are more rational than them. Well, you did convey them the message, just not the way we all wanted to". They left the office.
In Fearos, The General summoned the scribe. He said, "I want you to write a letter for me to Walbur, write what I am saying". The scribe took a paper and was ready to write.
The General started and said, "Greetings, Mr Hayden, Mr Davis and other members of City Office of Administration & Trade (COAT) and the lovely 'rational' people of Walbur, this is General Vaughan writing you a letter to address the 'brave' actions of your committee members. I am impressed by the honesty shown by Mr Larry towards our behaviour and our devotion. I would like to honour the members of COAT by giving them what they need, a good future. Well, they were getting it before us with hard work, I am giving you one without any hard work and prior to us. I, General Vaughan, The Army General of Neaucape and a true devotee of The Lordess She, hereby declare that the business and 'rational' city of Walbur is NO longer a part of Neaucape and will be isolated by every city of Neaucape by every means possible, that includes, economics, trade, food, profits and most importantly, the blessings of The She". The scribe had a smile on his face. The letter was sent.
When the letter reached Walbur, everyone wanted to know about its contents and the action taken by Fearos. The letter was opened in Larry's office with every gentleman present there. Larry opened it and read the letter aloud to everyone. Everyone was shocked to hear that. Their faces turned pale. They didn't know what to say. Larry sat down on this chair with sweat running on his face. He realised what he had done. Davis was blank. He stared outside the window and saw people waiting to hear the letter. The other gentlemen looked at each other with scared faces.
This may be the end for Walbur.
