Hello and welcome to this emotional roller-coaster I like to call a book.

I'm really glad you stopped by. I've been working really hard on this, and I'm frankly a little nervous because this is my first time writing a real book. Real as in it isn't a oneshots book or a random book for when I'm bored.

For those of you who know me already, you know I have the tendency to go off on a tangent when I begin speaking, so let me try and make this short and sweet.

I started this book late last year after I got home from an event which made me feel really happy. I thought the word 'happy' didn't quite capture my emotions, and so came up with another word, that word being ecstatic. With being a writer, I wanted to describe the way I felt in words. I wrote a short piece, a few sentences which described the way I was feeling. It actually sounded pretty good, like the beginning of a book, and that very piece, obviously with a few tweaks, became my prologue.

I've wanted to write a real fanfic forever (like I have a million in my drafts), and when I started writing this one, I made a vow to myself that I'd publish it, and, well, here we are. I'm quite proud of it so far, and I really hope you guys will love it just as much as I do!

Regarding characters, I've used all the named characters from the musical, but I have made up a few too. I tried to make their characters as distinct from one another as possible, but there may be some similarities. This is a Modern AU by the way. Here's a brief description of the main ones;

James Madison: 17 years old throughout most of the story, 3rd youngest of 8, artist (more like cartoonist) and writer, bisexual.

Aaron Burr: Also 17, shy, IT nerd, bisexual but more into girls.

Theodosia (Theo) Bartow: 17, athlete, straightish - like, she'll flirt with girls and even kiss them, but she'll only ever date boys.

Dolley Payne: 17, cheerleader, becomes James' BFF, bisexual, more into boys.

Thomas Jefferson: 18, basketballer, loves board/card games, pansexual.

Then there's the other characters like the Marquis De Lafayette, Alexander Hamilton, John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, The Schuylers etc., who show up now and again, but aren't exactly main characters.

I'm aware that this book has a lot of triggering discussions, so I've put a warning at the beginning of each chapter which contains potentially sensitive topics, therefore, please be careful. I've also put warnings if the chapter contains [insert Lenny face], but I don't think they'll be an awfully large amount of that ;) .

In addition, please be aware that this fanfiction is very historically inaccurate, for example James was actually the oldest of 12, so if you know it'll bother you, don't read it because the last thing I want is to be called out for being so utterly historically inaccurate.

I should probably shut up now, right? Right, okay.

Thanks again for stopping by, and don't forget to vote, comment and share! Au revoir mes petits choux! 💜❤✨🌈
