Never Be The Same by Camila Cabello^
"Now, Skylar."
I sigh. "Ok." I look up at her then instantly look back down. "What exactly do you want to know?"
"What's been going on? Why you're acting like this. Avoiding me. Talk to me, please."
I'm going to regret everything that comes out of my mouth.
I let out a breath that I was holding. "I have this- um, these feelings and I don't know how to address them correctly and-" I kept my eyes on the table. "I don't know."
"What feelings?"
I stared at the napkins. My heart was hammering. Breathing was hard.
"Towards you." I heard my ears ringing. "This is wrong, yes. I know. I am aware and- and I try so hard to avoid any interaction but it's hard." I never once looked up. I was scared.
My phone starts ringing a few moments later and I noticed it was Ana. I pressed declined as I sat there with my heart beating out of my chest.
"Skylar," I kept my eyes on the table. "look at me."
I look up to meet her eyes and I felt like running away. She didn't look mad or disgusted. Which was good.
"I may feel the same way." I watch as she continues to look at me.
I gave her a confused look, because obviously this was a joke. "Huh?"
She stares down at the table. "I don't know how to explain this so it makes sense."
"You feel the same way?" I ask.
She looks up and meets my eyes. "Maybe. It's there. I can feel it, but if I should ignore it.. I'm not sure."
I slightly smile down at the table and couldn't contain this feeling in my stomach. It all felt unreal.
"Skylar?" I look up to see her watching me. She looks around for a moment.
She sighs as she ran her hand through her hair. She kept avoiding eye contact and it was making my heart pound.
After a moment of silence, she sighs. "Skylar, I need to figure this out. I'll see you tomorrow."
She leaves and I watch her disappear out of the door.
-
I ran through the front door then ran upstairs. I slammed my door then took my clothes off and got into my sleeping clothes.
I jumped into bed and was ready to go to sleep. I had so much on my mind and I couldn't wait to see Julie tomorrow.
Not sure if she wanted to see me, but the thought of her actually telling me what she said had my head spinning and butterflies in my stomach.
The thought of her feeling the same way had my heart doing flips and a smile on my face.
It felt like a dream.
Nonetheless, I finally got a decent amount of sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, I felt great. I finally got some sleep and I was happy. It's been a while since I slept that good.
I sat up and stretched as I glanced at the clock. I got up to take a shower. I washed every part of my body then rinsed my hair out before turning the shower off and stepping out into the cold.
I wrapped myself in a towel then walked to my closet to look for something cute to wear. I took out some ripped jeans and a sweater.
After I was dressed, I fixed my hair. I blow-dried it and messed with it until it looked perfect.
