It definitely felt weird, but I wasn't complaining one bit. I mean, this is what I've been waiting for so all these weird feelings should go away.
We weren't together, obviously.
But it still made my heart hammer against my chest just thinking about her and how we could eventually be together.
Last night was so great. Ever since I got home, I couldn't stop smiling or remembering her lips on mine.
I couldn't wait to see where this leads us.
As I entered the house, I was instantly stopped when my dad and Ana caught me and started asking questions.
"Do you know what time it is?" Dad crossed his arms.
I shrug then glanced over at the clock on the wall. "Nine?"
"Where the hell have you been? I've been trying to call you!"
I took my phone out of my pocket and showed him. "It's dead."
"You didn't answer my question. Where were you?"
"At a friends." I shrug.
He continued to watch me. "You better not be lying, Skylar. It's a school night and you know that your curfew is seven!"
I apologized a few times before I was able to get out of his presence and go upstairs.
I didn't intend to stay over at Julie's for so long, but it was hard to get away from her.
As I was taking my shirt off, I overheard Ana's voice. "She needs to be punished, Greg. This is unacceptable. Stop letting her walk over you."
I pressed my ear against my door to listen.
"I know what I am doing. Just let me handle it, please."
I roll my eyes then got undressed. I pulled my pajama pants on then a long sleeve shirt and got into bed.
I grabbed my backpack and took out my book and a notebook then started my homework that I knew was due tomorrow.
I couldn't stop thinking about Julie and it made me smile. I look towards my window and saw the glow from the moon. I decided to grab my book and go out onto the roof.
It was a peaceful night.
The crickets were making their noise as a slight breeze was felt.
I smiled as I sat on the roof with the book in my lap.
It was the perfect place for me to enjoy the night and focus on my school work.
But of course my mind wandered to Julie and that was my only focus now.
I look around as I heard some noises then listened as I knew it was Ana and dad. Probably arguing over dumb shit.
I climbed back in my window and walked to the door. I pressed my ear against it and listened as it was silent at the moment.
"It's stupid, Greg. She is eighteen. She needs discipline."
I listened closer.
"Ana, please. Not tonight."
I heard a door shut then footsteps pass my door. Then I heard Ana, almost too low, but I heard it.
"If you won't do anything, I will."
-
I held onto my coffee as I pulled into a parking spot. I grabbed my keys then opened the door. I pulled my backpack over my shoulder and got out.
