Party

So... they were at a party. I know, I know. Since when does a group of 14 year old nerds go to a party? Well... that was all Dustin's fault.

Earlier that day
"Guys guys guys" Dustin said while rushing towards their table in the cafeteria.
"What what what?" Lucas said mimicking his voice.
"Anthony just invited all of us to a party, tonight" Dustin said existed.
"What?" Mike asked.
"Dude, that makes no sense. We're nerds, remember?" Lucas said.
"You're nerds" Max said.
"I know, I know." Dustin said ignoring Max.
"Why did he invite us then?" Mike asked.
"Well... don't kill me now cause I know how you can get irritated and angry and all that" Dustin said to all of them but of course meant Max and Lucas and Mike.
"What did you do?" Max asked suspiciously.
"Well... Anthony was handing out invitations together with Gabe and then he stopped me while I passed them and asked if I wanted an invite and obviously I asked why and he may have said that he thought the redhead was cute and he wanted to "suck face" with her and I may have said that you're up for the idea and that we're coming." Dustin said while talking really fast so no one would understand what he said, which failed.
"He wanted what and you said what?!" Max asked angrily.
"Suck face and you're up for the idea. Don't hit me!" Dustin said and covered his face with his hands.
"Too late your shitbag!" Max said and raised her arm to hit him but Lucas stopped her.
"Max stop it" Lucas said calmly.
"What? So you want me to make out with that creep?" Max said.
"No but you don't hit your friends" Lucas said.
"Look we really need to be normal teenagers after all that happened" Dustin said.
"You know what? You're actually right" Mike said. "Me and El and Will are going with you"
"Since when did you start to decide for me?" Will asked.
"Since we needed majority and you're the only one that wouldn't punch me out of these" Mike said referring to Will, Max and Lucas.
"Come on Max" Dustin said. "You can hide from him"
"All night?" Max asked. "And what am I gonna tell my mom?"
"Just tell her that you're sleeping at my place" Mike said. "Mom's out of town and dad doesn't pay attention to anything"
"Ah fine" Max said. "I'm in"
"Lucas?" Dustin asked.
"I'm doing this for Max, not you" Lucas said.
"Yeah right. You loooooovvve me" Dustin said. Lucas rolled his eyes and Dustin grinned.

So there they were. In the middle of a crowded living room with drunk 13 and 14 year olds. Where'd they even get the alcohol?

"Oh hey you came!" Anthony said and walked towards them.
"Yep" Dustin said.
"And you brought another girl?" Anthony said and his eyes asked who it was.
"This is my girlfriend, Jane" Mike said and put his arm around her shoulder.
"Hi Jane. I'm Anthony, nice to meet you" Anthony said and smiled at her. Anthony was that guy that everyone wanted to be friends with.
"So redhead, wanna follow me to the drink table?" Anthony asked and reached his hand towards her.
"Nah I'm fine here" Max said. Lucas couldn't help giving him some angry glares.
"Okay well I'll be there if you change you mind" he said and left.
"El what do you think?" Max asked and looked across the couch at El. All the guys were seated between them.
"Hot" El said.
"Yeah, right!" Max said. "So hot"
"We're actually sitting here!" Lucas said referring to him and Mike. Dustin and Will shared the look that said 'we should leave' and then left one second after.
"We can still think guys are hot" Max said.
"I'm sorry Mike" El said.
"No El! Don't say you're sorry. He has to accept that you think other boys are hot." Max said.
"But I'm still the hottest guy right?" Mike asked.
"Yes, promise" El said and kissed him.
"I'm still the hottest guy, right?" Lucas said and turned to face Max wanting the same response as El gave Mike.
"Shut up, Stalker" Max said and hit him playfully on his shoulder.

"Spin the bottle everyone" Anthony shouted out to the crowd. About 7 if them sat down in a circle. "Hey redhead, come on" Anthony shouted and pointed towards her.
"No" Max said.
"Are you a chicken?" Another guy asked.
"No!" Max said and rolled her eyes and then stood up. "Come on Lucas" She said and reached out her hand.
"No, Max" Lucas said.
"Come on! I don't wanna kiss anyone else" Max whispered the last part while giving him puppy eyes.
"Ah fine" Lucas said and took her hand.
"Yeah!" Anthony and some of his friends shouted when Max and Lucas sat down.
"You too!" Anthony said referring to El and Mike.
"No!" Mike said without any argument. They probably decided that there was enough of people in the circle now since they didn't argue Mike.
"Okay, who wants to start?" Anthony asked.
"Red, red, red" a guy started saying and was then followed by the rest of the group, exempt Lucas.
"Give me the bottle" Max said and took it from the guys hand.
"Okay so you have to go in there and do seven minutes in heaven with the person it lands on. No matter who it is" Anthony said and pointed towards a small room.
"I get it" Max said. She spun the bottle while taking a deep breath. She was nervous on who it would land on. She had only kissed one guy in her whole life and she didn't feel like kissing anyone else than him. And she was also pretty sure that would be cheating.
The bottle spun around for longer than she thought was possible and then stopped. A slight relief filled her body when the bottle didn't land on Anthony. Or any other guy. It landed on a girl in her math class. They hadn't really talked before.
"Ooooh" the guys said. "Go"
"Come on" the other girl said. Max stood up and followed her towards the room. She closed the door behind her and then turned around towards the girl.
"You're Max, right?" She asked.
"Yeah" Max said. "I'm sure you've heard the rumors"
"What rumors?" She asked. Maybe not everyone in school knew the rumors about her.
"That I'm sleeping with every fucking guy in 8th grade" Max said while looking away.
"Wow, no. I've not heard that" she said. Silence filled the room. "Have you?"
"What?" Max asked.
"Slept with every guy in 8th grade?" She was surprisingly interested.
"No, of course not" Max said.
"Oh" She said. "Would you?"
"No!" Max said getting irritated but she calmed herself. "I'm kind of dating Lucas"
"Sinclair?" She asked with a wide smile.
"Yeah" Max said.
"Wow he's cute" she said.
"I guess" Max said.
"I wish I could date someone as nice and cute and smart as those guys" she said.
"Well one of them are available" Max said.
"Who?" She asked.
"Dustin" Max said.
"Oh he's so cute. I love his hair. Did you see what it looked like at the Snowball? Oh my god" she said.
"I'll tell him about you" Max said and smiled.
"Thank you!" She said. "What about the other two?"
"Mike is dating El- Jane. You don't know her" Max started. "And Will- you're not really his type"
"I would love to have a gay best friend" she said.
"Yeah it's great but don't tell anyone. He's not really out of the wardrobe yet" Max explained.
"Okay, I promise" She said.
"What's your name?" Max asked.
"Clara" she said.
"Max" Max said and reached out for her hand. "But you already knew that"
"Yeah" Clara said and laughed. "Wait, aren't you Billy's step sister?"
"Yeah that's me" Max said.
"Oh that's cool" Clara said and Max could see her getting uncomfortable.
"No, it's not" Max said and rolled up the sleeve of her shirt.
"Oh my god! He did this?" Clara said and reached for her wrist but Max fast snatched it away.
"Yeah" She said.
"What else does he do?" Clara asked.
"He calls me names and hit me and stuff... he- I've never told anyone this, not even Lucas but... he tried to rape me once" Max said while looking down at the floor.
"What?!" Clara almost shouted.
"Yeah. But I got away before" Max said.
"Wh- you should tell the police. That's illegal." Clara said.
"Nothing happened" Max said. "Besides he was too drunk to know what he was doing. He don't remember anything"
"I'm so sorry Max" Clara said.
"It's okay" Max said. She felt a tear forming in her eyes. She wasn't gonna cry! "Let's talk about something else. How long has it been?"
"Time's up!" Gabe said and opened the door.
"7 minutes" Clara said and we both laughed.
"What happened in there?" Anthony asked when they all sat down again.
"Oh lot's of stuff, right Max?" Clara said with a grin.
"Yeah, lot's" Max said. Lucas looked at her confused. She decided not to bother tell him what happened. She gave him a kiss on the cheek instead.
"You're turn Clara" Gabe said and gave her the bottle. The game kept going for a while and none of Lucas or Max were selected until a girl named Amanda had the bottle. It landed on Lucas. Max tensed and her eyes fast moved from Amanda to Lucas and to Amanda again.
"Lucas, come" she said and dragged him into the room.
"She was into it!" A person said. Max looked back at Mike and El to get some sort of comfort but they weren't sitting on the couch anymore. Max looked around the room to find Will or Dustin but she didn't find them either. She turned her head back to look at Cara and there was finally a couple of eyes that met hers.
Clara didn't even have to open her mouth to give Max a message. "It's fine". Even though Max should smile at her and be friendly, that's not what she is. Max isn't a very friendly person. Instead she turned her head away from Clara and looked for her friends again. She didn't find them for a long while until she saw a short boy with straight light brown hair. Max decided to stand up and walk to him.
"Will!" Max said.
"Yeah?" Will asked. He had his normal shy tone in his voice.
"Hi" Max said and stood beside him.
"Hi" he said.
"Do you know where everyone are?" Max asked.
"Dustin was in the kitchen taking shots when I left him about an hour ago. El and Mike left almost right when we got here. I think Mike said something about to loud. I'll have to agree" Will said.
"Yeah, me too" Max said.
"Where's Lucas?" Will asked.
"In there, with Amanda" Max said annoyed. She wasn't jealous!
"Why?" Will asked.
"Spin the bottle" Max said.
"I-"
"Don't say anything. I know nothing will happen." Max said. She did trust Lucas. She really did! But she didn't trust Amanda, at all.
"We-" Will started.
"I'm gonna go over to the drinks. Are you coming?" Max asked.
"Do I have to drink?" Will asked.
"Of course not" Max said.
