"Hey, guys!" Chase greeted Adam and Leo, as him, Bree, and I walked into the lab. Since Chase and I were broken up, I kept my distance. Things had just been awkward the past few days. "Check it out! We just got our first paychecks from Tech Town!" He smiled and held up the check, as well as Bree. I had my check shoved in my pocket.

"Nice." Leo commented. "What are you going to spend it on? Video game? New kicks? A birthday gift for a sibling who wants a video game a new kicks?" He nudged Chase with his elbow.

"Nope." Chase grinned. "I'm gonna open a savings account."

"I wanna like you, but you make it so hard." Bree told her brother, before walking out of the lab. I quickly glanced at Chase before following her. I didn't understand how I was able to work with him, but as long as I could avoid him at home, then I was fine.

"You two need to talk." Bree ordered, following me into my bedroom. She sat down on my bed and leaned against the headboard, while I sat down at my computer desk.

"I'd rather not." I told her, my voice somewhat bitter. It wasn't directed towards her, but towards the topic of Chase.

"I get that my brother was a dick, but he still loves you."

I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "If he loved me, he wouldn't be acting like the breakup never happened. I'm starting to think that the breakup was a good thing."

Her eyes widened. "Alex, you two are perfect for each other. You have to get back together."

I bit my lip, my heart racing at what I was going to say next. "I'm thinking of moving in with my Aunt and Uncle."

Her eyes widened even more. "The one's that live in New York?" I nodded. "Alex, no! You can't be serious!"

"I'm dead serious." I turned around and opened my laptop. Once it was fully turned on, I opened a shortcut that led me to a page for airplane tickets. "I've been thinking about this for the past couple of days, and I think it would be better for all of us if I just moved."

Bree was at my side immediately, slamming my laptop shut. "Don't even think about it." Her voice was cold, and I was kind of in shock. I had never heard her like that before.

"Bree-"

"You are not moving." She said through gritted teeth. "You and Chase will get past this, so you are not moving." And with that, she walked out of my room.

Not caring that it was nowhere near time for bed, I changed out of my work uniform and slipped on my pajamas. I climbed into bed and went to sleep.

"Alright, hustle up, team!" Scott hollered. Us, employees were at his side immediately. For us techies, this is our world series, and I'm your starting quarterback."

"Go team!" Chase exclaimed, high-fiving Scott. Well, attempted. They failed miserably. "Scott, I've studied all the specs. I'm ready to assist any customer who needs help."

"Great. 'Cause we are going to have more people in the store than ever before." Scott said. "Any questions?"

Caitlin raised her hand. "Can we not do the sale?"

"Caitlin, remember what I said?" Scott questioned. "Think before you speak, and then don't speak." He walked away, leaving Chase, Caitlin, Bree, and I by ourselves. Before it got awkward, I hurried over towards the customer service desk, Bree hot on my tail.

"Are you still thinking about it?" She asked, referring to my decision to move to New York. I stood behind the counter and she stood on the other side. I just stared at her. "Well?"
