I opened my eyes to close them quickly due to the harsh sunlight.
I sat up a little too quickly, I regret it due to the pain that was shot throughout my head.
I groaned in pain.
"You're up." Someone said gasping and footsteps followed them.
"Where am I?" I asked the mysterious person will attempting to open my eyes.
"The hospital." He said quietly.
This had my attention.
"Why?" I asked while shooting up ignoring the pain.
"You're going to hurt yourself." He said while walking next to me and helping lay down again.
I just looked at him probably with a stupid look on my face.
"What?" He laughed, I won't bite.
He said adding a wink.
I rolled my eyes at his ego.
"How long was I out?" I asked Jamie realizing where we were.
"12 hours." He said while shrugging.
"What?!" I yelled sitting up again.
"Jesus, woman, would you just lay down and not move?! You're going to hurt yourself." he said with a slight laugh while coming back to me.
"There. now stop sitting up." He said with an accusing finger while smirking.
I smiled at him.
"When do I get released? I have school tomorrow." I said while squirming around realizing I can't sit up again.
"Oh, no, you're not going to school." Jamie said while coming towards me and grabbing my shoulders to stop me from squirming.
"It's already 3, you don't have enough time." Jamie said looking at the clock.
"3?! As in a.m?!" I asked yelling an sitting up but slowly so I didn't get into that much trouble.
Jamie nodded his head up and down.
"Wait, how long have you been here for?" I asked him realizing he was just hanging out in the room when I had woken up.
"Since the accident." He muttered under his breath.
"What?!" I yelled again.
"Quit yelling!" Jamie said in a kidding yelling tone.
I laughed, "sorry." I muttered.
"And you're not going to school, you can be released at 6." He said changing the subject.
"Ugh!" I groaned in frustration.
"That's three hours from now." I complained.
You'll be fine." He rolled his eyes.
"No, I'm not fine. I'm tired of this gown, my hair is greasy, I have makeup probably under my eyes. I want to go home now." I ranted on and on.
"How did I even get in this gown?!" I said after releasing it.
"Oh, you're mom got you in it, with the help of a nurse. And as far as the getting you out early. I'll try. You're mom went home for the night though because she has an early shift." He told me.
"Really, you'd do that?" I asked with a big grin.
"If you haven't noticed, sugar, but I'm not too happy about this place either." He said in a joking tone.
I laughed and he left the room to go talk to the receptionist.
2 hours later.
It took Jamie some convincing, but he got her to let me go home early.
Since neither of us were 18 he couldn't sign me out.
So, he called the one and only person who could ever get out of this mess.
Ryder.
Ryder bribed the receptionists by telling her to release me or he'd have her fired.
She gave in and did just that.
Now here sits Ryder White and Jamie Kings on my couch.
We're watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air reruns at 4:30 in the morning.
"I'm hungrryyy!" The two boys complained.
"You guys just ate!" I complained back.
"But, Eff, we're hungry again!" Ryder complained.
Nobody had called me that for a long time.
It brought back memories. Too many.
"We'll go look for something." And as soon as those words left my mouth, Ryder and Jamie were tripping and running to my pantry.
I mentally face palmed myself for the two idiots.
"Be careful!" I hollered into the kitchen.
"Yes, mom." Ryder responded and I could hear Jamie snicker.
Another face palm.
"Oh my gosh!" Jamie squealed like a teenage girl when there's a shoe sale.
"You have Twinkies?!" He asked.
"Uhm, if you see them then yes." I said sarcastically.
"Shut it." He yelled into the living room.
It was awhile before the two boys came back out.
"It took ya long enough." I said while rolling my eyes.
"Sorry?" They mumbled.
"Fried Twinkie?" Ryder offered me.
"No thanks." I said while shaking my head.
He just stared at me.
"What?" I asked with a laugh.
"I offer my food with you and you say no?" He asked faking being offended.
"Technically it's my food. And I don't know. I've never had a Twinkie before." I said while refocusing my attention back to the tv with a shrug.
"What?!" The boys asked in unison while Jamie paused the tv.
"Yup." I said while popping the 'p'.
"Try it right now." Ryder said while holding it out in front of me.
"What the heck- no!" I said moving away from it.
"Why? It's good." He said like a two year old.
"Hmm. No." I said after pretending to think about it.
"Pweeaasse." They whined like babies.
"No."
"Effy."
"No, don't 'Effy' me." I said while mocking the baby noise Ryder made.
"Why not." They asked propping their eyebrows.
"Because I said so." I crossed my arms.
"Stop being so damn-" I flinched at him cussing and he noticed, "dang stubborn." He finished and I giggled at his attempt I cover it up.
"Fine." I replied in defeat rolling my eyes.
I took the fried Twinkie from him and bit into it.
"Mmm! It's like gods giving birth in my mouth!" I said in pleasure.
"Nice comparison." The two best friends smirked at me, but I ignored them taking another bite into my new obsession.
