"Please give a round of applause for Class of 2014." Announced our principle. "Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen, on the count of three, release your caps." She beamed and proceeded with the countdown. "Three. Two. Release!" And with that, thousands of caps were flying through the air, and littering the auditorium.

"Effy!" Lana called out to me. I smiled wide at her. "We did it!" She beamed to me as soon as she reached me, gripping my arms and jumping up and down. I wasn't doing that. There's no way I would- "Yay, Yay, Yay!" I beamed jumping with her.

"Oh! Ryder!" I rushed away from my best friend and to Ryder. "Hi." I smiled sheepishly. "Hello, gorgeous." He replied, pecking my cheek. I rolled my eyes, smiling nevertheless up at him. "We graduated!" I yelled. "You think?" No need for the sarcasm. I scoffed.

"Effy!" My name was being called from somewhere and when I turned around, I was already tackled into a tight grip. "Melissa! Hi!" I wound my arms tightly around her.

"It's weird how close you are to my mother." Ryder scoffed from next to us. Melissa and I pulled back to place a hand on our hip and glare at him. "Did I mention, it's even weirder when you guys do that in sync?" Melissa and I glanced at each other, laughed, then stopped and glared at Ryder again.

I was approaching him slowly and he glanced around for a way out. "Oh look! My father!" Ryder rushed out. "Dad!" Ryder yelled capturing his father's attention and running away. I laughed at him and looked for my mom.

"Mommy!" I called out running over to her. "Baby!" She called back wrapping her arms around me. "I'm so proud of you." I smiled and hugged her tighter. "I know, mom." I whispered and she pulled back sniffling.

"No crying, come on, go get Ryder and meet me at home, Josh and Liam are waiting, I'm going to go get Melissa and Keith, alright?" My mom basically ordered. I nodded and smiled at her while walking away. "Love you!" I called back. "You too!"

I scanned my way through the people looking for the one who mattered most. I saw him crowding around with all of my friends. I smiled at him and ran up behind him, jumping on his back. He stumbled a little due to the sudden extra weight, but wrapped him arms tightly around my thighs securing me.

"Hello, handsome." I whispered in his ear. He turned his head to the side a little to get a better view of me. He was smirking. "Elizabeth." I scowled at him, causing him to chuckle and kiss my cheek. I rolled my eyes, smiling. I shook my head and brought my lips to his giving him a quick peck.

He smiled into the kiss and I did too. We pulled back and he kissed my nose. I looked at my friends who all had amused looks. I rolled my eyes. "Come on, my mom's waiting for us at my house." I waved for my friends to come on.

Ryder went to put me on the ground. "Ah, ah, ah. Not so fast, Mister White, you, my friend are carrying me because my feet hurt. And because I'm lazy." I held on tighter and he laughed. "Did you just friend zone your boyfriend?" He asked with fake hurt.

I laughed. "Never." I pecked his cheek and he smiled. "I love you, Effy." I smiled brightly. You would think after three months, those words would come naturally, but they still always give me butterflies. "As you, my kind sir." I snickered and he rolled his eyes.

I took off my gown at Lana's car and threw it in the backseat, as did everyone else, leaving us in our normal clothes. Lana and everyone are going home to change first, then coming to my house, Ryder and I are required to go there right away.

My mom wanted me to change into a dress, but I'm going to stay in my skinny jeans and T-shirt. My life: my decisions. Ryder tangled his fingers with mine bringing me out of my thoughts. "Come on." He spoke quietly. I nodded. "Bye guys, I'll see you in an hour or so." I waved to my friends not caring about their responses.
