Before you start reading, I wanted to warn you that this is a draft zero, meaning I'm posting as I write. This means you'll come across garish errors, plot holes, and inconsistencies. If you have read Mercy and Rapture, you'll find The Pacifist follows a similar theme. I think age gap, kinky romance might be my thing.

I also wanted to point out that this will most likely not be an accurate representation of a healthy and responsible D/s relationship or of the BDSM lifestyle. I will take liberties for the sake of drama because who doesn't want drama?

Update - July 2025: Good news! I'm nearing the end (maybe about seven more parts of which five are already written). If you've been hesitant to start out of worry that this will be an abandoned story, know that it's close to completion. I'm super pleased with how the story and characters evolved. It being draft zero, I was getting acquainted with the characters right alongside you. Now that I know them better, I can't wait to revise. Like Mercy and soon Rapture (it will be published under a different title), The Pacifist will be polished and professionally edited. This is the bones of the story, when it is fully formed, I think it will be one of the best things I've written as it touches on some tough topics such as survivor's guilt, general trauma, and self-acceptance/love. I've fallen so madly in love with Rachel and Joseph. Originally, I wanted the writing to be whimsical and almost dreamlike (which I hope comes across in the first couple of parts), but the more I wrote, the more I realized that this story is dark and gritty and rough around the edges. Maybe that's how it should be, as Rachel comes to us while in a deep depression and maybe the whimsical is actually a disconnect. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the read. Outside of publishing news, this will be the last update regarding story developments.

Update - June 2025: Gahhh previous update was out of date (the irony)! I have been updating regularly. What can you expect? At least one update per week. Also, holy smokes this is turning out out to be hotter and darker than Mercy. Comments and feedback (good and bad) fuel me. Let me know what you think of Mr. Maxwell ;)

Update - November 2023: I had abandoned this project but am planning to return to it with the intention of weekly updates starting early December. Stay tunned, and as always, thank you for reading.
