It was the next day, and I was sitting on my bed, legs pulled to my chest. I hadn't spoken to anyone since yesterday's events. I couldn't believe what had happened, how fast everything could change.

My brother walked out of the bathroom and sat beside me on the bed.

"I hate seeing you like this," he said softly. "I just ... I don't know what to do. I can't fix what happened. But I'm here. Always."

He pulled me into a hug, and I sank into it, the only place that still felt safe. No matter what, I could always count on him.

After he left, a knock came at the door.

"Go away," I muttered to whoever knocked, not even looking up. I didn't have it in me to deal with anyone else.

But the door opened anyway.

Bellamy Blake stepped in, quiet but present. He didn't say anything. Just sat down next to me and wrapped his arms around me.

And that's when I cried.

We were walking through the forest on the way to Polis. Clarke had made a truce with Lexa, something that didn't sit right with me. My brother and I walked ahead of Clarke and Bellamy. I felt Lucas slip his hand into mine and squeeze gently.

I was grateful for him. He was the only family I had left. Without him, I wasn't sure I'd survive.

Later, when we were settling down for the night, I watched Bellamy walk over to Clarke. I couldn't hear what they were saying.

I laid down on the forest floor, closed my eyes, and let the darkness take me.

The next morning, we reached the Grounder village. The gates opened with loud creaks, and the guards said something in their language. I didn't like any of this.

"We need to disarm before we enter," Lincoln said.

Reluctantly, Bellamy gave up his gun and others followed. But I didn't move.

I still had my sword strapped to my back and a knife in hand. A Grounder walked up and took them from me. I didn't stop him, but I stared him down with everything I had.

We entered, and a Grounder began shouting in their language. Lexa gave a silent nod, and her bodyguard began beating the man senseless.

I stormed to her. "Make him stop. Please."

She didn't even flinch.

Fury flared in my chest, and I turned back. Clarke stepped in then, pleading with Lexa.

"They'll blame us for this too," she said.

Finally, she relented, and the violence stopped.

"The Sky People march with us now. Anyone who tries to stop that will pay with their life," Lexa declared.
