Chapter 2

"Oh,wow. You guys did this for me?" I asked as I  went downstairs, looking at the beautiful cake on the counter. Dylan just said simply, "No I ordered it from a catalog...." He didn't finish, mainly because I took that moment to punch him in the stomach. He shouted at the top of his lungs, "OW! ARIANNA!",but it was in a playful tone. "Ha-ha! Score!" was my only response. I got a plate down and was about to dig into the cake, before Jake walked in. "No ma'am Arianna." "But Jake! Come on, just a bite? A huge, wolfish bite? " I begged. "No. Not before you blow out your candels." I am turning 17, I though. What do I need candles for..... Jake read my mind. (A/N the wolves in this book can do that through a mental bond called a pack bond.) "Of course you need candels!" He shouted. "What fun would it without them?" I grumbled out a  "Fine.",and let him light the candles. I blew them out. I has two wishes;  1, find my mate 2, get a new phone.

Jake smiled and said, "Time to open presents! Mine first!" "O'Kay Mister 'I am at a 5 year olds party'. I'll open it." I did and found a diamond pendant. I had to take deep breaths

before speaking. "Was it mom's?"

He replied with a sad "Yes".

***flashback ***

I was running in wolf form along with my brother. Suddenly a message went through my mind. It was from the pack doctor. I am sorry to inform you that the Alpha and Luna are dead. I stopped dead in my tracks, turned, and ran all way to my parents cabin. They had been in a battle with another pack that had tried to take some of our land. The wounds had been  infected, and they're wolves couldn't heal them, for the wolves that attacked them had wolf's bane on their claws. It made it impossible for the wolves magic to heal them.

*** end of flashback ***

I leaned over to Jake and wispered "Thank You." "You're welcome He replied.

    

        Dylan broke the sad scilence by saying " O'Kay, my turn." and handed me a square, small package. I nearly screamed when I saw what was inside..... O'kay I did scream. But who wouldn't? It was an i-phone! "OMG! For me?!  Really? Thank you!" I was jumping up and down I was so happy. Then a messanger was at the door and we could all smell his anxiety. Jake ran to the door. "What is your news?" The messanger said  the very sentence I was afraid He would say.  " The Twilight Forest pack has crossed the boarder." "WHAT!" My brother roared. He shifted into his wolf and ran out the door.  I shivered. The Twilight Forest

pack was ruthless. I used the pack bond and asked Jake if I could come. No! He replied. Stay inside in your room. Lock the door to. I snapped back a Fine, and took some cake and splayed out on my bed. About a minute and a half later, my door was knocked down for the second time that day.
