I clung to the strap of my bag like my life depended on it, the bandage on my hand tightening. I was terrified. Last night, we did little practices to try and calm my nerves, but now I was in the situation, it was 100x harder.
"C'mon Little Swan, it'll be okay," Jasper lead me into the school and sat me in History beside him.
I felt calm all of a sudden, and I wondered if I had emotion issues. One minute I'm scared, the next I'm calmer than a sleeping baby.
"Miss Swan, your father came in asking about your hand? Can you write or do you need someone to write for you?" He asked standing before me, glancing at my hand.
"I can help her sir. I'm a fast writer," Jasper volunteered.
A quick nod from the teacher was all it took before Jasper was dragging my desk to connect with his, and dragging my chair with me on it, to my desk.
"You didn't have to do that you know," I whispered as the teacher scribbled on the chalkboard.
"No, but I did, " he grinned, sliding my book to him and neatly scribbling notes down.

Lunch was strange. I had sat with the Cullens and emotions were flying at me. It was like I could feel everyone's emotions and it was overwhelming. Slowly chewing my apple, my eyes were burning. I looked up at Edward panicking. Edward somehow understood me, and unlike some Cullens, keep things calm.
"It's okay Arielle. Breathe. In for four seconds, out for four seconds. It's okay, everything will be okay," he spoke quietly shuffling his chair closer to mine, and reaching his arm across to squeeze my hand.
I squeezed his arm, and his random jolt didn't go unnoticed by me. I flinched my hand back, looking at him wide eyed.
"Did I shock you?" I whispered noticing the tiny pink glow radiating from my hand.
"It didn't hurt, it's okay," he reassured taking my hand again.
"I still shocked you," I spoke astonished and shocked at the same time.
"What makes you happy? What calms you down?" Jasper changed the subject.
"I don't know," I spoke frustrated, watching Tyler argue with Mike.
"Jacob. Jacob calms you down, right?" Bella spoke.
"Yeah. Yeah, Jacob," I smiled at the memory from not too long ago, chasing him along the beach.
"Think about that. Think about him or times you spent with him," Edward recommended.
I closed my eyes and focused hard on that day.
I was chasing Jacob, while Embry chased me and Quil chased Embry. I jumped on Jacob but then Embry pulled me off, swung me over his shoulder and took of running. Then Jacob chased after me while Quil thrown himself at Embry's legs. Eventually we all ended up in a dog pile, laughing and heaving, until we sprinted after each other again.
"I'm okay now," I breathed out and relaxed.
"See? We'll practice that later on okay?" Jasper added his expression stiff but relaxed; an odd mix.
I nodded, before throwing my apple at Emmett, giggling as he chased me out the cafeteria, ignoring the looks people sent us.
