*No-one's P.O.V*
Jacob sat next to Arielle's bed and scanned her injuries. She had bandages all over her, her wrists, neck, arms, legs. She had one wrapped around her head, and Jacob was devastated when he heard there was damage to the brain. Her right wrist had been broken, but with the bites James had given her, it couldn't be put in a cast as the bite needed to be clean until it healed.
The Cullens and Bella walked in, Bella more so hobbled, and glared at Jacob. Jacob mimicked the glare before sighing.
"I'm gonna get a change of clothes. Call me if she wakes up," he spoke to Bella and left.
Jasper spoke first, watching her sadly as she didn't move.
"Is it a good idea for us all to be here? We don't know what she knows and it might be bad us all here at once."
"We need to find out son. I think she knows what we are now. We'll have to explain to her about the bites," Carlisle was on break, mainly so he could speak to Arielle.
Her finger twitched, and she immediately nearly cried out from the pain in her head. She whimpered as she opened her eyes, and was greeted by the people she considered family.
"What's the evaluation doc?" Arielle got straight to the point, her voice cracking from the amount of pain she was in, but she wouldn't admit it in front of them.
"11 bites from James. 3 on the neck, 3 on your left wrist, 2 on your right wrist, 2 on the inside of your left elbow, and 1 on the inside of your right elbow. You are still human. Extreme blood loss. Concussion. Broken wrist. Lots of cuts from the mirror and a piece of glass got lodged in your arm so there will be another scar there. We are so sorry that this happened Arielle," Carlisle hated to be the one to tell her, but had to be honest since he hadn't before.
She exhaled before looking up at them all, "Why didn't you tell me? I mean I told you my secret and everything about me. I would've accepted you and-," she cut herself off to breathe and try to refocus her eyes that seemed to go blurry. "I thought we trusted each other," she closed her eyes and reopened them, not letting the free tears fall.
"We did trust you. We didn't want to involve you into this world. It's dangerous for you with Bella being involved," Edward reasoned watching her closely, her expression changing to one of anger.
"So, what you're saying is Bella was completely fine knowing that I was in danger from not knowing? What about Dad, Bella? What of it wasn't me that he took? What if he took Dad instead? Did you even think about if he was safe?" Arielle was upset and angry.
"I-I thought you would be safer not knowing," Bella panicked.
"Yeah well me knowing what I was fighting would've helped," Arielle lifted her hand and looked at the 2 bandages that covered the 3 bites underneath.
"I'm sorry Elle," Bella croaked and nearly sobbed when Arielle didn't listen to her.
"When can I leave this place?" She turned her attention back to Carlisle.
"Well, your head bandage can go since it will be healed now, and you just have to not use your wrist until that is healed. School might have to wait because of your concussion but other than that, whenever you feel up for it," Carlisle had never felt such sympathy for a human since he turned his adoptive children.
"Cool," she slowly sat up, ignoring the pounding in her head. "Where's Dad?" She asked no-one in particular.
"Getting a drink. He'll be back in a few," Bella whispered.
She noticed her phone on a small table and reached for it. She knew exactly who she was calling and didn't hesitate to click the name.
"Hey Jake."
"Elle! I'm on my way back now and then I'm never leaving your side again. How do feel? Has the doctor been in? Oh god, I can't wait to set Bella straight. Why did you follow her?" He ranted worriedly into the phone.
"I followed her?" She looked to Edward who wrote down on the notebook Jake had used for entertainment the cover story.
"Oh you probably don't remember. You were following her on your skateboard but there was a hit and run. They can't find your skateboard or the car but Jasper apparently found you while looking for Bella with Edward," Jacob explained and you could hear a car engine on his end of the phone.
"Oh. Well um. I'll see you when you get here. Don't want you to crash," Arielle tried to crack a joke, but the tears welling in her eyes was enough for her to hang up after their goodbye.
Arielle hissed as she ripped out the IV and slid off the bed. Edward went to approach her but stopped as she made an energy bubble around.
"Don't come near me," she shook her head, the tears falling down her cheeks.
"Arielle, you can't tell anyone about us," Carlisle watched her cautiously, as a small nose bleed appeared, and her purple eyes glowed.
"Yeah, I'll just carry around the burden of lying to my loved ones. I've joined the club," she dropped her energy bubble and left her hospital room in search for her father.
She knew she'd never be the same.
