Chapter 12: Is It Really Worth It

(Venicia's POV)

I'm not dyin by the government, not TODAY!!!!!
"We need to find a way to hide from these things!!!" Destiny said stopping dead in her tracks.

"Are you actually insane" Izzy said turning around ushering us to keep moving.

"We need to look around for any kind of secret tunnel covered or something" Destiny said pulling out her mini pick from the supply bag.
"Were gonna die if we just stand here looking for something that isn't here" Izzy snapped.
" It's either this or we just keep running till they get us" Ashlee said out of breath.
"And for me that's gonna be pretty soon" Ashlee said laughing.

"Well then we should start looking around, if you see them we can't stay here any longer" Izzy said pulling out three more picks.

"Whatever that's not important right now" I said walking over to a hunk of wall.

" Where should we start"  Destiny said walking around.
"Listen around the walls and listen for any clue, noise or evidence of something behind it."
Izzy said before walking slowly around the walls.

I'm walking around and I don't see anything, god what if we're the only ones that make it out. No I can't think like that I know out friends are strong enough to get themselves through.

I stopped as I passed by a small crevice in the wall, it wasn't big enough for me to look through clearly, but I could hear what was on the other side.

Water.

"Guys come over here" I said before everyone glanced up before coming over.
" I can hear water running behind this wall, maybe there's a tunnel behind it" I told them flatly.

" Yeah but this far down were bound to have to swim our war through it" Destiny said looking around for some other sign.

" This is our only option" Ashlee said as she started to break at the wall.

After some mining through the wall we made it to where the other tunnel entrance is.
And Destiny was right.

Our path is submerged underwater......

"How long do you think we have to swim for" I asked.

" I'll check to see if there's some air patches through the tunnel" Izzy said before diving in.

"Anyone wanna play cards?" Ashlee said holding a deck of cards.

Before anyone could answer Izzy same back up to the surface.

" There's very few patches but we could all make it but we have to go soon." Izzy said.

"Then let's hurry up I hate swimming without my floaties" Ashlee said before getting in the water.

"Make sure to put your stuff away and don't get killed down here" Destiny said before diving down.

Ashlee followed behind her accompanied by Izzy.
"Man I hope this works"  I said before Taking a deep breath.

(Ashleigh's POV)

I feel like I've been falling for longer that I should be, but I can barely hear myself think over Lana's screaming.

"HEY WHEN DO YOU THINK WE'LL HIT THE WAT-!!!!" Jose said before the water smacked him, as the water submerged us till we swam our way back up.

" Owe Owe Owe that stings" Lana said swimming towards the end of the water.
