Chapter 21: Parting Ways, Starting Fresh

(Venicia's POV)

As we pulled up to shore we couldn't help but stop and look around for a good few minutes before someone finally spoke up.

"It's only five thirty, we can go have dinner together before we part ways" Ashlee said looking around.

"Sounds like a great idea let me look up places near us" Sam said pulling out her phone.
" Ok so there's......Outback SteakHouse.......Five Guys..........Goldfish.........McDonald's........or Chick-Fil-A" Sam said looking up at us.

"I don't care" Chris and I said in unison.
"I like Five Guys" Ashlee said looking around.

"Oh there burgers are beautiful" Sam said before adding on. " It's a 20 minute walk from here"

"Alright off we go" Ashlee said before walking ahead with Sam's phone.

As Sam finished her order we all sat down and just really took in the feeling around us.

"Man this whole crowded setting really scares me now" Chris said looking around at the crowded restaurant.

"Man I feel ya, all these weirdos sometimes look worse then the creatures we saw" Ashlee blurted out.

"You got that right" I added on to her convo.
" Man what's gonna happen to other people when they mindlessly wander down the same path we do and get hurt" Sam said looking at us.

"Lord Jesus I would hope people were smarter after seeing all the reports of animal attacks" Chris said rolling his eyes at the last part.

"I can't believe some people are dumb enough to believe that all those attacks on the mountain were by animals, or how the fact no one has actually seen them......think about it" Ashlee said drinking her tea.

"Anyone who's dumb enough to believe the lies by the government is also dumb enough to wander down that path to their death" Chris said flatly as he saw a waitress bring out food over.

"People will never understand will they" Sam said biting her burger.

"At least we will always know the truth" I said.
"Something tells me that phrase you just said is gonna be the reason we all die" Ashlee said looking at us.

"They can try and fail I ain't dyin to the government" I said shoving a small handful of fries into my mouth.

"Cheers to that" Ashlee said holding up her drink to me.
"I don't know about you guys.......but I can't drive on a full stomach to where I wanna go" Ashlee said unbuttoning her jeans.

"Mood of the century" Sam said.

"There's a hotel not far from here, we could go stay there till the morning" Chris pointed out.
"Sounds like a plan to me" Ashlee said leaving her part of the bill on the table.

As each of us left our amount we walked over to a nicely looking hotel.

I just hope it's not expensive..... I ain't made of money.

(Sam's POV)

"So is this really the last time I'll see you guys" I said trying not to cry.
(No Sam only bitches cry)
Wow thanks brain.

"I don't this will be the last time" Ashlee said out of the blue.

"Yeah judging by the situation were in right now I think it's best to each have some form of contact no matter what." Venicia Said.
"I'm the worst kind of friend I swear" Chris said flatly.

"At least you didn't try killing Destiny with a rock" Ashlee said referring to Izzy.
"Do not think this is the last time we ever see each other, something tells me there's something coming, and I don't like the vibes of it" Venicia said looking around.

"I Don't think it will be"Ashlee said with confidence.

"Alright well take care of yourselves guys, I hope to see you guys again" Chris said before getting into his rental car.

"Your still giving me a ride to the airport right" Ashlee said looking at me.

"Yeah I've got nothing to rush back too at the moment" I replied.
"I hope to see you guys again and not in a casket or on the news" Venicia said looking at us.

"Oh trust me you'll only see me on the news for assaulting a pornstar" Ashlee said making us all laugh.

"What" She said seriously.

"Girl I don't even wanna know, I'll see you guys soon" Venicia said before getting into a rental car she got the night before.

"Are you ready to go" I asked Ashlee.
"Is no a bad answer" she said back.

"I don't really wanna go anywhere either, but I also know it's not safe for any of us to be near each other." I said with a sad smile.

"I'll call you when I can without it looking weird" she said before getting in the passenger seat.
"Man.......to think we are the four that survived out of 12 people" Ashlee said coldly.

"Well don't remember the government killed Christina she made it out" I added in.

"True, that makes me mad that they can cover it up with fake shit" Ashlee said pulling out a half eaten burger.

"Where did you get that?" I asked her pointing at her hand.

"My IPhone? T-Mobile" She said taking a bite of her sandwich.

"No dumbass the burger" I said sarcastically.

"Ohhhhh..... I don't remember I think sometime last night, it's still good so" she said taking another bite.

"Don't choke on the ride there or imma bring you back to kill you myself" I said laughing.

"You wish you could kill me" She said causing us to burst out laughing.

"Man it sucks saying goodbye to my human marshmallow" I said hugging her.
"Imma miss my own real life version of a dwarf always next me" She said laughing.

Even in the worst situations she knows how to lighten the mood up a bit.

"You never told me where you were flying too?" I asked her.

"Maybe Hawaii, or Haiti or Cuba it all depends really" she said nonchalantly.

"How did you have the money to go where ever?" I asked her.

"I didn't, but Izzy did" she said holding out a wallet with stitch all over it which Izzy's has since 10th grade.

"You little bitch" I said laughing.

"I'll miss you ugly" she said hugging me one more time before walking away.

Man it's so hard saying goodbye.......
