She let out a pained cry as she stumbled onto the ground.

Kokichi's eyes widened at the horrifying scene. He ran over hitting the zombie off the female as he helped her up,

"Let's get going! Now!" The boy yelled as the two others nodded running from the mob of monsters. The short boy carefully helped the female up as he grunted limping to keep him and Kaede up. Kaito picked up the female as he carried her bridal style, the group rushing through the overgrown plants, flowers bushed and all sorts being to block their way. Kokichi set his mind into focusing on getting Kaede to safety, only wanting to save the dying girl from being becoming one of the horrid things the purple-haired boy feared, he sprinted opening the door rushing the others in.

Kokichi saw the life drain from her violet eyes, as her pink cheeks grew to a sickly pale color. He grew scared as she looked to be on the verge of death. All thoughts were cut by a frantic boy,

"Kaede!" The leader screamed. Shuichi's eyes drowned in pain as tears rolled down his cheeks when Nagito came back with the kit, Shuichi went straight to work. He cleaned the bite best he could as the dying female only made a wince softly. She wore heavy eyes looking to her lover while the other was trying desperately to save her. "K-Kaede p-please! Don't leave me!" His voice practically screamed in pain, his eyes wide as his shaky hands held onto the others.

"S-Shuichi.. it'll be okay.." her voice spoke with pain, yet she wore a smile ear to ear as he tried to lift her hand up. Shuichi choked on his tears as he couldn't muster to say anything. His hands fell to the floor shaking as he wore a face of sadness. Kaede's eye grew heavy before finally closing, her last breaths came as she became limp and lifeless. Kokichi stared with wide eyes as he was shocked. One moment they were joking around with each other and the next she laid dead on the floor.

The soft mellow feeling swam around the building. No one was the same after the accident, it left everyone purely shocked and horrified. Yet through it all, Kokichi sat at the library, the cold ran in the air and the area has deserted no life to be seen around him, leaving Kokichi lonely in a sense.  As he continued to read, the silence grew comfortable his eyes painting pictures from the words.

"Kokichi, we need help with lunch." Nagito peaked through the dusty door, making Kokichi turn his head up.

"Wait, isn't it Shuichi's turn to help with lunch this week..?"

Nagito's eyes darted to the floor, "He hasn't come out his room yet, a few of us have tried, but, nothing worked.." The pale boy let out a sigh, nodding as he stood from the seat.

"I'll help, and I'll try to speak to him."

"Are you sure? He's hard to even get a response from.." Nagito gulped, turning his head to the boy's lavender eyes. Kokichi simply nodded, walking from the table to the shelf where he placed the book into it's designated spot he found earlier.

"Alright, today we're having some spaghetti, well, what I think is spaghetti, Hajime is cooking today." Kokichi let out a soft giggled,

"Hope its not going to be hard as a rock when I bite into it." Nagito rolled his eyes,

"He's not that bad." Kokichi gave him a look, making Nagito chuckle lightly, "Alright, you're right, maybe it will be harder than rock." He giggled, making Kokichi giggle with the other. They didn't notice they were already at the dining room,

"What're you guy laughing about?" Hajime huffed, crossing his arms as Nagito stopped turning to the brown-haired boy,

"Nothing." The grey hair boy just chuckled,

"Need any help with cooking Hajime?" Kokichi asked, with a small smile.

"oh, no the foods already finished, just cooling off. The table needs to be set up though." With that Kokichi nodded, heading to the kitchen to get the utensils, cups, napkins and eating mats. The dinner room already had a few people walking in, sitting at the table. Kokichi set the eating mats down and cups at the tables. When he finished he let a tired sigh, stretching his arms.

"I'll be right back, I'm going to check on Shuichi.." Kokichi hummed turning to Nagito, causing the pale boy to nod before chomping down onto his spaghetti. After he finished stretching, he began to walk off to the leader's room. He stepped through the long halls that were well cleaned, a few pictures clung onto the walls as the doors had either been painted or had a sign on them.  He assumed them to be painted and customized by the others who lived here, just to make the halls more lively.

He spotted a door with flowers painted on them, stopping in front of it. He took a small breath, flowers, a sweet smell. He recognized it instantly. Kaede's room. He surely wasn't very close to the blonde but enjoyed her company. She was like a mother figure he lost long ago, it makes sense why Shuichi missed her dearly. The paint seemed to be faded and scraped off the door, possibly from the lack of care due to the absence of the blonde.

He let another sigh escape. Though he guesses, it won't be easy, he has to try to get Shuichi out. He was the leader of the group, they needed him. After taking a step back from the comforting door, he began to walk to the very end of the hall. The door had a sign,

'Shuichi's Room.'

As expected, Shuichi wasn't the type to have such big decor like the other's door. But a simple sign nonetheless, Kokichi knocked softly on the door,

"Shuichi..?" Kokichi spoke with a soft tone, "Lunch is ready, please come out.."

There wasn't a response, not even a sound, making the purplenett grow worrisome. Out of concern, he tested the doorknob to see it was unlocked. He turned the knob fully, opening it. With what he saw, the room was messy, clothes laid on the floor, the desk in the corner of his room sat lonesome and messy with only the sun shining through the thin white blinds hitting the multi-colored papers.

Kokichi gulped, assuming the worst he opened the door slowly. To his surprise, Shuichi wasn't dead, nor eaten by monsters that could've broken in but still fast asleep. Kokichi stepped over to the boy's bed. The taller boy was fast asleep, the blankets swallowing the sleepy boy, his eyes were tired and droopy, with his cheeks rosy and pink fading into his pale body.
