"ANXIETY!" I tensed up seeing Patton run over pulling Virgil into a hug. His usual soft pastel blue suit a nice familiarity when my nerves were a little rough. I mean... White is my color, obviously. However, I felt... compelled to wear something a little darker. I don't know why. But I found myself in a plain black suit before I could even change my mind. I watched as Patton slowly pulled away as Virgil tapped his back signaling he was having some trouble, and Pat just laughed. "What took you so..." He glanced over at me and I froze up. His eyes were wide as I just shook my head anxiously. "...long?" He narrowed his eyes as he shot Virgil this look and I frowned. "You didn't have any issues did you?"

"I am offended" I called out as if a joke but Patton just smiled sadly. He knew... He knew I wasn't joking. "I would never..." I couldn't even finish the sentence. I wouldn't what? I wouldn't cause a scene? I wouldn't upset Virgil? I wouldn't be a total asshole for literally no reason? Yeah... I think I've proven those all to be lies.

"Never mind that, Ro..."

"Patton!" The two of them jumped and I just looked away feeling slightly guilty over yelling. "Sorry, it's just..." I was trying to figure out a distraction. Anything I could use to get Virgil away from the moral trait and thus me too. That's when I noticed it. "The music's different." Patton just sighed as he rubbed his neck.

"Well yeah, kiddo. The usual party planner wasn't here to... well plan." Virgil narrowed his eyes as he glanced around the room. "They actually didn't help at all this time." I looked away in guilt again and Patton just sighed. I'm sorry... I just haven't been feeling up to it. Besides my input never seemed to be good enough anyway and it always hurt... him. Why would I bother?

"He isn't here." Virgil stuffed his hands in his pockets before shaking his head out of his thoughts. "Usually he'd be on the dance floor or on stage right about now." I could see Patton frowning as I narrowed my eyes. "He wasn't there last time either and he yells at me for hiding?" I cringed. I couldn't help it. I felt guilty but... also because of how his voice shook. "At least I'm here." Virgil sighed as he looked over at a very confused and concerned Patton. "Is he sick?"

"Sick? Who?" Patton was looking between the two of us with growing worried as I just stayed out of it. Virgil doesn't know it's me. He doesn't know the person he's talking about is right next to him. And I think Patton just realized that.

"Roman." Pat's eyes went wide as Virgil frowned running a hand through his hair. "It's just he's been acting differently and he isn't here... which you know that Disney loving maniac would never miss. I..." I tensed up as Patton glanced over at me with a sad frown. "I'm actually a bit worried, Dad."

"What?" I slapped a hand over my mouth startling the both of them and Virgil shot me this look. "I thought you didn't like, Roman."

"Didn't like him? When have I ever actually sad that?" I was stunned as Virgil smiled slightly with a soft laugh. "I don't hate, Princy. At all... I just hate how he sees me."

"R-Ro..."

"Don't, Pat." Virgil narrowed his eyes in confusion as I looked away. Patton just shook his head and flicked on the nose.

"Stop being all mopey, Dopey. It's a party!" I couldn't help but laugh at the moral man. He beamed brightly as I nudged his arm lightly.

"Whatever, you say Padre." I took a deep breath and smiled as I looked over at the confused emo beside me. "What do say we go check out this music?" He laughed, taking my hand tightly as I lead him off towards the dance floor. To be honest I would have thought he would have protested. You know... It is a dancefloor and it was not by any means empty. Even still he willing let me lead him over. He was tense. I could tell so we hung out around the edge at first. The music was not something I would pick. That much was for sure but the thing is. Virgil was standing beside me smiling away as he swayed in time with the beat. That was until someone got up on stage and Virgil's eyes went wide.

"KAI!" Before I even knew it Virgil had run off and I had to struggle just to keep up. I watched as Virgil ran to follow the redhead as he joined a man behind the DJ booth. "Kai..."

"Vee?" The redhead jumped up and pulled Virgil into a hug as I just stood back and watch. I couldn't help but feel this... pit in my stomach. I didn't like it. "What are you..."

"Did Caz reach out to you?" Virgil called over the music causing the young man to freeze. I could see the blush building which only made the pit worse.

"H-How did you..."

"Oh, come on. Who else has such good taste in music?" I felt my blood start to grow cold. I felt like an outsider... I was an outsider. I really didn't like this. Why was Virgil being friendly with someone I didn't know upsetting? Kai pointed back at Virgil who just shook his head. "Sure..."

"What? You do remember that you're the one that picked all the songs for the..." Virgil quickly covered hissing like a cat and causing the young man to tense up. I narrowed my eyes in confusion as Virgil slowly let Kai go.

"We don't speak of that." HIs voice was warped like it does when he's overly anxious. Kai just laughed as he shook his head.

"Why? Scared of how Roman'll react to you showing him up?" Virgil hissed again as I frowned. Show me up? Show what up? What are they talking about? I DON'T LIKE THIS FEELING!

"No... We don't talk about it because it was a mistake! Now, please tell me you have some Get Scared in that playlist of yours."
