𝙔/𝙉

I walked into the classroom and went to my usual desk. I plop my stuff onto the ground and and place myself into the seat. I put my feet up on my desk and blow a bubble with the gum I was chewing.

"Ah, Ms. Y/L/N," the sound of Mrs. Hendricks' voice overtook the sound of students, "Feet down."

I smile and put my feet on the ground, "Did you miss me?"

She sighs, "I must admit, I did."

I giggle, "I got you a gift."

"Did you?" she asks.

"I mean, I was gone for months!" I exclaim, "I had to get you something."

I grab my bag and pull out a box. I go to her desk and put it in front of her. She opens it up and pulls out a glass name plaque. She gasps and places it down, getting up and hugging me over the desk.

"Y/N, I love it!" she says.

I pull away and grin at her, "I really need to go see my best staff friend."

"I can't just send you to the—"

"Oh bite me tough stuff," I say.

She sighs and grabs a slip, "There you go."

I smile and go back to my desk, grabbing my items and running down the halls to the principal's office. I pace instead of sitting down. I notice a kid come out and my excitement got the better of me and I sprinted past the desks, bumping into someone.

"Dr. Graham!" I exclaim, hugging her. She laughs and walks into her office, I stay attached to her body as she shuts the door. The moment we were alone she hugged back.

"Y/N," she smiled, "I've missed you." She pulls away and goes to her seat, I sit in the one across from her. I giggle and put the slip on her desk. She looks at the piece of paper and laughs, "I have no clue what she did, this is a prewritten slip because she just wanted to come see you."

I giggle, "I said 'bite me tough stuff.'"

"Was it seriously to just see me?" she asks.

I nod, "I promise! But look, I got you some presents!"

I put my bag on her desk and pulled out a glass name plaque, just like Mrs. Hendricks' except this one has 'principal' written under her name.

"Wow Y/N," she says, "That's beautiful!"

"That's not all," I grin, "So I know how lizards are you favorite animal!"

"Oh I'm a little scared but still excited," she giggles. I reach into my bag and pull out a lizard paper holder, with jewels lining it's body. She gasps and grabs it, "This is—" She covers her mouth, "It's amazing."

I smile, "My, uh, my boyfriend helped me pick it out."

"That was so sweet of you guys," she says, "Thank you so much, and tell him I said thank you."

I nod, "I will!"

"I've truly missed you," she says.

"I've missed you too," I smile, "And, uh, I haven't seen Maria today. She told me she would be here, did you see her?"

"She had to rearrange her schedule," she says.

"Because of the—" I pause, "—because of the incident?"

She nods, "And do not take matters into your own hands."

I shake my head with a smile, "I won't."

"I see it in your eyes," she says, "Don't make me call your parents."

"Parent," I say, "Singular. Single mom."

She nods, "Don't make me call your mother."

"I'm fine," I say. She raises her eyebrow, "I'm fine."
