A Twist of Fate- AMinute To Spare
I got on all fours and stood at eye level with Cat, who sat very poshly in front of me with his crystal blue eyes piercing mine.
"You can talk to me... Through my mind? Is...Is that right?"
Cat nodded approvingly. You're smart for a human. Most would probably go insane before they realised I can do what I do.
"Thanks..... I think."
I suppose you're experiencing some sort of grief.
I paused for a minute and sat up. "Yes..... It's my fault.. I....I could have warned him." I started sobbing.
Silence yourself.
I looked up at his sudden outburst. I controlled my sobs as best as I could, while letting out a small sob every so often.
This can easily be fixed.
"How?"
Do not question me. I know what I'm talking about. Cat turned his head. These lavenders. Their roots can be used to breathe in what seem like impossible places. For instence...
Cat walked behind me and faced the direction of the underwater city.
I took a minute to ponder what he meant. "Oh.... No no no you can't mean..."
I do though. It's all you can do.
"But they've been underwater for over twelve hours they would have been long dead by now and--."
Then recover their bodies. Cat inturrupted in an annoyed tone. He sighed. Gather as many lavender roots as possible. Each one will last you about an hour. It shouldn't take you that long to find that boy.
I nodded and picked the three lavenders on top of the grass. "Do I eat them then?"
Cat nodded and I dreadfully swallowed two roots. Giving me two hours to find James.
Good Luck. We'll be able to talk to each other through thought while you're searching for the boy. I'll ensure your safety. That, I can promise you.
"How can you ensure my safety? You're a cat."
I wasn't always a cat. Now go.
I dove down and down and down into the water and towards the dimly glowing water city.

How is that possible?
How is what possible?
You weren't always a cat.
No... No I wasn't. I was once a human. No longerdo I claim that right. I never had the need to...
I grabbed the top of a tree and pulled myself down to the street.
Who were you?
I told you my name was Voltaire.
Voltaire is a last name.
I heard him chuckle a bit. You're too smart for your own good. Sigh... My name was Ezio. But that name no longer brings any use to me... Or anyone else for that matter...
As I approched James' house I stopped.
I.... Don't think I need to do this anymore.
What?
I smiled. I don't want it anymore..... James...... I'm sorry.... I just can't......
Lucy. I suspect the lavender root will be running off soon. You best be returning to the surface.
But he didn't get a response, because the lavender had run out a minute too soon.
