Claire had always been a morning person, usually woken by her alarm at 6am, showered, packed and ready all together within half an hour.

But today, that was a different story. Nothing felt right anymore.

"Shane," she mumbled as the sound of her alarm filled the room and pulled her out of her sleep.

She rolled her head slightly and opened her eyes to find that she was alone. Again.

Where the hell is he this time? she thought to herself. She soon shook it off and unwillingly crawled out from under the covers.

Walking across the room to pull out some clean clothes, she heard, what sounded like, whispering then giggling coming from the living room below her.

She stopped moving midway across the room and suddenly, it stopped all together. Ignoring the thought, she hurried down the hall and into the shower.

Again, faint whispering and fidgeting, followed my more giggling.

It could be Eve and Michael, you know. She kept telling herself.

Why don't you trust him? He's your boyfriend and you love him, the subconscious voice in the back of her head told her again and again.

It was true. She did love Shane, but that didn't stop her from always feeling that little bit of doubt and distrust towards him. Despite his bad past, she was told by several people that he had never been perfect, in relationships. At the start of their relationship together, when things started to get more intimate, she would always picture Shane and herself perfect together. Like nothing could ever go wrong between them.

So why was she only now having doubts about them?

Nothing ever stays perfect when It comes to you, Claire, and you know it. Great. The little self doubting voice was back again.

But as she made her way to the living room, there was no one there. It's just your imagination she told herself and left the house into the chilly Morganville breeze.

She couldn't have been more wrong.
