you tell me that your hurt and your pain
and i can see your head is held in shame
but i just wanna see you smile again
see you smile again
——————Agonising. The car ride back to Jane's was absolutely agonising. Noah and Sadie demanded to stay with Millie for the night, but she told them to go back and get some rest. Finally, they caved but with a firm shake of his head, Finn stayed by Millie's side, palm practically super glued to hers since they stepped outside of the building.
But once they pulled up to the house, Millie separated herself from Finn's grasp as she quickly opened the front door and made a dash to her bedroom. Finn sighed as he filled Jane indoors, closing the door behind them and making sure it was locked for the night.
Finn took his jacket off, hanging it over the couch as he sat himself down. His head went straight to his hands and tears fell straight from his eyes. His palms were wet with tears and his chin wobbled in an attempt to hold in his audible sobs that he knew eventually would escape.
Jane then entered the room, heart breaking once she saw what she saw in front of her.
A strong shell with a soft inside, almost like a Cadbury's cream egg.
She sat down on the couch next to him putting his arm around his back, allowing him to lean into Jane. Jane started to feel Finn's tears fall onto her shoulder as he continued crying, it was like he couldn't stop.
The girl he loved was in pain and he couldn't do anything about it. There was nothing he could do to help and most of all, he felt so sorry for her. He knew she hated empathy and all but he couldn't help it.
"I don't know what to do." He said through sniffles, sitting up slightly as he quickly wiped away his tears, just in case Millie came back downstairs.
"You're doing everything you can do." Jane reassured him, rubbing her small hand up and down his back.
"Thank you, Jane." Finn thanked her, taking her into a tight hug before running off upstairs and heading towards Millie's room.
Once he entered, he saw her led on top of the covers, mouth slightly open as she slept, she was already asleep which showed how obviously tired she was that day. She wanted to just go to sleep, to forget and she was so exhausted that as soon as her head hit the pillow, she was off to sleep.
Even though he planned to make her dinner and watch her favourite shows when they got back, he couldn't blame her for just falling asleep.
He walked towards her, pulling the covers over her small body as he climbed next to her, pulling her into him so that her back hit his stomach. She stirred, holding Finn's arms closer around her as she moved.
He was going to be there for here, he didn't know how yet but it was something that he would eventually have to figure out how to do. He finally drifted off to sleep with these thoughts racing in his mind.

Finn awoke in the middle of the night, stretching over to click on his phone to check the time. The brightness burned his sensitive eyes and he scoffed once he saw that it was only 2:00am. His arm then went to reach out for the limbs that he grew to love, but lifted his head up when he didn't feel her beside him. She wasn't there.
