Chapter 20: Lost

It's getting close to Roddy and Rita's wedding anniversary and they're really excited, but when they get lost at sea with Puss, Kitty, Bolt, Mittens, and Rhino, they get stranded on a Galapagos Island in Ecuador. Will they ever get back home or stay on the island forever?

One morning at the St. James house, Roddy had just finished setting their kitchen table up for breakfast before he walked in the living room where Rita was sitting on the little couch with Rachel and Rodney, who were all watching Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 together. "Alright, everyone, breakfast is ready." He called out before Rita got up from the couch along with the kids, pausing the movie as they all went into the kitchen to sit in their chairs, all finding their plates, filled with heart-shaped chocolate chip pancakes with everyone's names written on them in whipped cream, surrounded by freshly cut strawberries.

"Ooh, pancakes shaped like hearts." Rodney said.

"Yummy, and it's got our names on them, too." Rachel said, licking a piece of whipped cream off of her finger, she just scooped up.

"I gotta say, Roddy, that's pretty creative of you." Rita said while Roddy sat down his cup of coffee close to his plate before handing the other cup of coffee to his wife.

"Thank you, just felt like making them today for my family." He said, sitting down close to Rita, kissing her cheek before he turned to his kids. "What do you, kids, think of your pancakes?"

"Yummy!" Rodney said in a mouthful, eating his pancakes, while his face was covered in whipped cream along with Rachel.

"Delicious!" She said in a mouthful as well, giving her parents a thumbs up as Roddy and Rita chuckled.

"I can tell." Rita said before handing napkins to her kids. "Wipe your faces, okay?" Rachel and Rodney both nodded, taking their napkins while Rita continued eating her pancakes, turning to her husband after popping a little stack of pancakes into her mouth. "And I love that you put that strawberry on top of the 'I' of my name, too."

"I'm glad you loved that, too, and the kids and I have a big surprise for you once we're all done eating, right, kids?" Roddy said.

"Right!" Rachel and Rodney both said, finishing up their pancakes.

"Really? I can't wait to see it." Rita said, sipping on her coffee.

Once everyone was done eating, Roddy left the kitchen with kids, telling Rita to stay where she was until they came back two minutes later, walking up to her. Rodney climbed in his mother's lap before handing her a picture collage.

The first picture at the top was taken on the day Roddy and Rita both got married eight years ago until Rita turned to the other four little pictures. Two of them were maternity pictures along with newborn pictures of their kids where it shows Rita was pregnant with Rachel in the first picture, kissing Roddy while he had his hand, planted on top of her hand, that was resting on her bump before it turned her and Roddy, cuddling a newborn Rachel in their arms. The third picture was when Rita was pregnant with Rodney, holding a two-year-old Rachel on top of her bump, giving her a kiss while Roddy was kissing her bump before Rita turned to the fourth picture of Roddy, Rita, and Rachel, all cuddling a newborn Rodney in their arms. Then Rita looked down at the last picture where it shows her, Roddy, and her kids back when they were five and three and the picture was surrounded by a red paper heart that looked like it was cut out along with the little red cut-out paper hearts.

Rita turned to her family, putting on a warm smile. "Aww, Thank you so much. All of you. This was very sweet." She said, hugging her kids.

"Ray and I helped make the hearts before daddy cut them out for us." Rodney said, pointing at the hearts.
