Chapter 31

3 weeks later......

  Niall's POV

        I'm sitting up in bed watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy. I've never told anyone besides Harry about my love for this show. If the other lads knew that I was into Grey's Anatomy, I would never hear the end of it. I'm about to watch another episode when Dr. Thompson walks in. He smiles at me and I smile back. "Hi Niall, I have good news for you." I sit up straight, ready to hear what he's about to tell me. "Since you've been doing better these past few weeks, we're finally going to be able to operate. This means that we'll be able to go in and try to get your tumor out." "This is good news. My only question is when are you going to go in and take it out?" Dr. Thompson has a huge grin on his face when he says "In a few hours." I grin back at him. "This is a step in the right direction Niall. Make sure you tell Harry and the others that you'll be in surgery and if they want to see you, it has to be within the next few hours. "Will do Dr. Thompson. See you later." "See you later Niall."

        I grab my phone and dial Harry's number. He picks up on the second ring. "Hi baby." "Niall, baby, is everything okay?" "For the first time Harry, things are starting to fall into place." I can hear Harry smiling through the phone. "Anyways, Dr.Thompson came in a few minutes and told me that since I've been doing better these past few weeks, he's finally going to be able to operate and try to remove my tumor." "Baby that is great news. When is he going to take it?" "In a few hours. He told me to tell you that if you want to spend some time with me before surgery, get up here as soon as I can. I can hear Harry starting up his car and I smile to myself. "I'll be there in a few Niall." "Okay Harry, I love you." "I love you too Niall." 

5 hours later....

       Harry's POV

        I've been by Niall's side for several hours now trying to help him get his mind of surgery. I know he's happy about Dr.Thompson finally being able to go inside of him and try to remove his tumor, but I also know that's kind of scared about it too. I've done everything from holding his hand to having a full on makeout session with him. That makeout session may or may not have involved some tongue. Anyways, I'm about to start round two when all of the sudden, Dr. Thompson walks in and I know what that means. It means it's time for Niall to go into surgery. I walk beside him until Dr. Thompson tells me that I can't go any further. Niall grabs my hand and squeezes it tightly. "Baby, calm down. You're going to be fine. I'm practically certain of that. I love you so much Niall and I'm going to be waiting for you until you come out of surgery okay." He nods and wipes away a tear that fell down his cheek. I kiss him on the lips passionately. "Niall you're strong. You'll make it through this surgery. Don't think that you're going to die because you're not." He kisses on the cheek. "I'll see you later then?" I smile at him and wave. "You know you will Niall. No need to ask me a question that you already know the answer to love." The doors to OR close and I'm left standing outside of them alone. Now all I can do is wait and hope for the best.
