Jack pulled his motorcycle to an abrupt stop right in the outskirts of town. Dust quietly settled behind him as he pulled his helmet off his face, revealing his red curly mop of hair and sharp nose. He had soft hints of freckles and a comfortable smile that fit easily on his face.

In stark contrast to his lively face, he wore a heavy black leather jacket, studded with metal rings and shapes. Black tattoos covered his body, running up his muscular arms and neck, on his firm back and tight abs. His hands were covered in leather, fingerless gloves. Hidden inside his gloves were pockets containing knives and sharp tools. His tight trousers had metal chains heavily attached to them, and he wore a fashionably torn black T-shirt. Despite his charming face, his eyes were alert and suspicious.

Jack, seemingly satisfied with the conditions around him, pulled his helmet back on and sped off along the highway into the city. Daringly and dangerously he weaved through the traffic, disregarding the angry beeps and yells he received. With a wide grin, he swore back at the driver with his middle finger.

"Fuck these amateur drivers!" He thought as he overtook them.

But as he neared the city he began to feel uneasy. He shifted in his seat, trying to place his discomfort and where it came from. Suddenly he hit the gas fast, speeding anxiously towards the city, as if in a trance. He couldn't breathe or think, he just had to make it into the city. In the back of his head he knew why, but under this spell he couldn't understand it.

Jack had come to town to reunite with Tang GuoDong. As a former member of his pack, he had moved on without him after Tang Goudong choose to remain behind in this small, lonely city with his new son. He always held Tang GuoDong in high esteem, since as the leader of a pack he was honored with the highest accord and when he left he was missed sorely.

It wasn't until a year later chaos broke out. The new elected leader had run into trouble with another tribe. This group of Vampires had been living together for centuries and had strong ties with each other.

And very strict rules.

At first they had welcomed them into their abode's, letting them stay for as long as they desired. But then things turned ugly. Jack's new leader, after secretly falling for the outrageously blonde daughter of the other tribes leader, had secretly married her. When the father found out, he was furious since they had broken strict traditions of the group.

Tang GuoDong's tribe had to escape as fast they could and their leader was taken as hostage and killed. The tribe was in disarray and no-one could agree on who to elect as new Head of tribe, many of them ending up disbanding into new smaller groups of families.

Jack didn't have a family. His family was the tribe and now without it he decided to go back to Tang GuoDong and seek refuge with him. It was seldom heard of for vampires lived alone, like a folk of birds, they usually traveled together, if a vampire was alone they were usually sick, dying or cast away from the tribe.

Jack snarled, his unease causing his fangs to lower and his nails to sharpen. His nails thickened and he clutched his gears tightly, nearly crushing them.

He was hungry. Starving, suddenly, with no warning or reason, as if he hadn't eaten or drunk blood in days. Jack had eaten earlier in the day- he had gotten lucky and found a young dew and three rabbits. Yet his hunger burned from the inside of his heart and he raced towards the city.

His food was there.

Tang Yi changed into a black hoodie and jeans. It was Thursday night and he knew that Shao Fei was going to the club. For the last few months, Tang Yi would hang around nearby, making sure Shao Fei got home safely, and that he wasn't taking anyone home with him. He remembered with jealousy the time he saw Shao Fei's arm twisted around a small girl's shoulder as he left the club, and how relieved he was when he firmly guided her into a taxi home.

"Good boy," he breathed in relief, "stay pure my little angel."

Now he was getting ready to go stand watch. He felt nervous and tipsy, worried about his own self control. Although he had the day to calm down, every time he thought about Shao Fei his heart beat would pick up drastically and he could feel his blood rush again.

Finally he took off towards the club. Before he left the house he told Tang GouDong he was going to the club, and Tang GouDong smiled happily. He loved it when Tang Yi made social interaction, thinking it wasn't good for vampires to live separate to the world anymore.

So much known about vampires had been shrouded in mystery, in legends and folk campsite tales. These tales were only believed by the faint hearted and they believed all the stories equally, passing them down the generations. Therefore much what is known about vampires to humans is untrue, or exaggerated.

Vampires don't decompose in the sun. During the hunt for Vampires many decades back, they were forced to remain underground, many of them hiding in coffins and old, haunted buildings, only daring to venture out during the wee hours of the night, to go find sustenance.

Vampires don't need food if they can drink blood, but many Vampires prefer eating, even though it makes them weaker, to drinking blood. Through the years, vampires who drank human blood segregated themselves from humans, living in tiny numbers and underground.

Tang Yi had drunk human blood a few times. During Changing it was imperative to drink human blood, no animal's blood could supplement the strong power pure human blood had. He received those from hospital packets and still remembers their delicious taste. It was like he could taste the person themself; their thoughts, feelings, experiences, fears, wonders and secrets.
He instinctively knew who's blood it was, their age, name and any illness they had. It was addictive. It filled him, and made him want more; more of their blood and more of others. As he drunk he imagined himself drinking the entire populations blood dry.

When he came to, he realised he was tightly shackled in metal and wooden chains, with Neroli herbs burning all around him. Tang GouDong explained to him that wood, if stuck through his heart, can be fatal if he was weakened by hunger and that he should stay away from saw dust as if he's highly sensitive.

"The Neroli is for stress," he said, sympathetic. "To calm your heightened senses."

Tang Yi slowly learnt how to control his ravages and yearnings. It wasn't too hard for him after a few months, all his life he had been separated from humans. Quietly and easily he tamed his strong thirst. He still managed to observe people with a perfect detachment and disinterest. His hunger was subdued with food and animal blood.

He had no hunger left.

But as he neared the club, his eyes began to adjust to soft aura and his nose sniffed the adoring smell of Shao Fei. And his stomach rumbled hungrily.
