Volleyball Sister

Nine

I walked to school, seeing everyone was crying and looking worried. I went to the team then saw Kageyama wasn't here, which I expected.

"So everyone knows then?" Yamaguchi nodded, looking around the yard.

"They're acting as if they knew her." Tsukishima said and, for once, I felt his anger.

"We just need to be strong, like coach said. If we are, she'll come home." Hinata said with a shaky voice, though I admired him.

"Yeah, Hinata. She'll come home." I said, not having the heart to tell him she might not.

"Excuse me?" We turned then I saw someone with the same hair and eyes as Rin, some girl.

"Yeah?"

"You're Ryunosuke Tanaka, right? I'm Gou Matsuoka, Rin's sister. He sent me here to get you. Kageyama wants you at their house, I-I don't know why." She said then I smiled, though it wasn't a very big one.

"Right, Rin. Uh, okay. Just a second?" She nodded then I looked at the guys.

"I'll text Nishinoya whatever I can, okay?" They nodded then I went with Gou, walking to the Kageyama house.

"When did you get here?"

"This morning. We're only about three hours away from here." I nodded, knowing they must have left early to be here already, then we got to the house and went inside. When we did, I saw all of her friends and Kageyama on the couch, eyes red and puffy but his mom was nowhere to be seen.

"So... Hana is really gone?" Nagisa whispered then Rei hugged him tightly.

"She's going to be just fine, Nagisa." I cleared my throat, alerting them to us, then noticed a cop I hadn't seen before.

"Sir, you are-"

"That's Hana's boyfriend." Kageyama said and had I not been upset, I probably would have blushed.

"We weren't told she had a boyfriend-"

"Because it wasn't necessary information. He was in the gym all day, she was not." Kageyama snapped then I went over, sitting next to him.

"Hey, calm down. I know this makes you mad-"

"Mad?! My sister is-" He stopped himself then closed his eyes, trying to calm down.

"What's going on?" I asked then the cop sighed.

"We found a backroad that led to the trail she was on, there seems to have been a car waiting there. We're tracing the tire tracks now and seeing if we can get a match but its a long shot." He said and I nodded, looking at Kageyama.

"Why don't you go-"

"I can't sleep, Tanaka. I've tried, I can't sleep." He said then I sighed as the cop left, grabbing my phone and calling Hinata.

"He-hello?" He answered but when I heard whispers, I remembered he was in school.

"I need you to come here, please." I said and heard him moving.

"I'll be right there." I hung up then noticed Kageyama watching me.

"Hinata is coming, he can calm you down." He nodded then Rin cleared his throat.

"Thank you for calling us, Tanaka. If we had found out from the news-"

"That's why I called. I didn't want you to be the last ones to know, though you kinda were but-"

"But you told us, not some stranger." Sousuke said then I noticed all of them had been crying, even Haru.

"She's going to be okay, she has to be." I said then the door opened, Hinata coming in.

"Take Kageyama upstairs, get him to sleep." He nodded then grabbed his friend, taking him upstairs and to his room.

"I can't imagine what these guys are going through." Gou whispered then I looked down.

"We haven't heard from them much since it- since she disappeared. I mean, all we do hear is that nothing more has been found except what we found at the camp, but that's it." I said then grabbed my phone, texting Yuu about what we were told.

"I just- we know Hana, she would have fought-"

"She did, Momo." I said and looked at him.

"She fought really hard, there was a piece of wood with her blood on it but it had someone else's blood too, so they're testing it. She- they guess she fought for a good while before she was taken." I said and he looked sadder.

"Will she come home?" Aii asked and I looked at him, forcing myself to smile.

"Yeah, Aii, she will." But will she come home alive?
