The first thing I feel is a drop of water hitting the center of my forehead.
I think I might've imagined it. Because there's no way that it could be raining with this STUPID sun shining in my eyes. I groan slightly as I feel the dull pain on my neck, then open my eyes fully as it all comes rushing back to me. Immediately I am blinded by the harsh white light of the sun for the second time today.
I raise an arm to shield myself from the sudden light, startling someone beside me with my movement. Instantly my head whips around and my heart is pounding full throttle when my gaze comes in contact with the man who just tried to strangle me.
His beautiful eyes are fixed on me in a worried but irritated gaze, but immediately I also notice that the girl is no longer with him.
Well great. He got rid of the witness too.
I look around in a daze, there are a few people watching from a distance whispering and murmuring. I see one woman with a phone out ready to call 911. Gee, thanks for nothing.
I jump as his voice cuts through my thoughts.
"Hey, are you okay bro? I'm sorry I...I'm not really sure what that was about" He is running his hands through his hair. There is a redness spread across his cheeks, paired with a pained expression.I notice that his voice is deep, but strangely calming. I'm taken aback by how non threatening he suddenly seems. His hair looks a bit tousled, as he'd probably been running his hands through them a lot. His shoulders were slumped and he was leaned toward me slightly, almost hovering. I mean it's obvious he sort of regrets what he did.....
Silently fuming I think to myself But he's also made it very clear that he's some sort of psychopath. I sit myself up some more on the bench, moving to face him better. Scrambling to find words I say,
"Hey uh, I wasn't trying to make a pass at your g-girl or anything if that's what you were thinking. I really don't want any trouble."
My voice is shaking, but I can't really help it. The man— Xavier I guess— doesn't say anything. Just looks at his hands for awhile, then looks back up at me. I'm sure he's gonna punch me or something. I honestly don't know what to expect from this guy.
He swiftly reaches his hand toward me and I flinch instinctively. Just what I was expecting!
But I'm surprised when I feel his warm hand gently touching the side of my neck. My eyes fly open immediately as I observe him examining the side of my neck, brows furrowed. "Sorry it just.... It looked a little red."
Well yeah, that's what happens when you choke someone out.... My thoughts are racing with sarcasm but I remain steady and bite my tongue. Instead I let out a nervous laugh, asking, "Is it bad?"
He gently runs his thumb along the mark, leaving a trail of fire on my skin. The hairs on the back of my neck rise.
"Nah" he says quickly, taking his hand away. His tone sounds calm but his face shows otherwise. We sit in a tense silence for awhile, and then I feel a raindrop again. And again, and again and again.Soon, as if the day couldn't get any worse- the skies have opened and my clothes are almost instantly soaked through. The stranger and I both stand, and humiliated, I start to quickly walk away. Right. Once again I can't enjoy anything without thoughts of her ruining it.
And again, like a fool i'm already thinking about checking my phone."Hey wait!" I can hear him say through the steady downpour.
I turn around and look at him, hands on my hips (more in defeat than anything else)
"Wanna get inside?" ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
I stare at him blankly. He's just standing there in the rain, hands in his pocket. His jet black hair is drenched and there's just....this feral look to him. His shirt is stuck to his body, as i'm sure mine is.....but my heart still skips a beat.
"There's this coffee shop just up the street.'
And after a beat.
'Please, it's the least I can do."I cross my arms over my body, my mouth hinged open to tell him my house is just up the street too so I'll be just fine, but then another sheet of rain starts pouring out of nowhere. You know what? Fine. I'll bite.
Didn't want to be left alone again anyways.
All I can really do is nod. For a moment I see him smile, ever so slightly. Then he starts walking quickly in the direction of the alleged coffee shop, and I take it as my cue to follow.
But as I begin walking I falter. "Hey wait!"
He stops in his tracks, tilting his head to look at me. "Uh.....not to be intrusive or anything but isn't your girlfriend coming too?"He turns his head away sharply, so that I can't see his face. Then shrugs, putting a hand on his neck as he calls out over his shoulder,
"Nah......she's not coming"

Still not sure on how often I want to upload, so I'll just upload whenever for now XD but if you guys want to vote on a day (or days) for me to upload I may put up a poll on insta. Just let me know!
Also quick Q+A !! (things I see a lot)
Who's dating who?: Jace (the boy in beige) is the one who just got out of a bad breakup. He's single. But Xavier (the guy who chokes him lmao) is dating the girl named Stephanie.
Why can't I see titles/the text conversations or fancy font?: Apparently androids and other phones don't really process the fonts so it just shows up in squares. If that happens to you I'm really sorry! I tried to describe some things in the comments but derp :p
ALSO DISCLAIMER: like I said in the summary, this book in NO WAY has ANYTHING to do with the actual people in the TikTok. It's inspired by them, but that's it. The rest of the story is entirely fictional and not at all affiliated with them.
So yeah that's about it
go get some SLEEP. Don't be like me pls. :') 🤟🏽
