I was irritably tapping my pencil when the doorbell rang.
I blinked and stood, wondering who could be here.
"It's probably just one of his drunk friends again." I mumbled irritably as I opened the door.
"He-Yuki?"
Yuki smiled softly. "Hello Mitsumi."
"Who is it?" My father shouted from somewhere in the house. "If it's that backstabbing drunkard tell him to go away!"
"Yes father." I responded before stepping outside and closing the door. "Umm, sorry about that."
I was suddenly very aware of my short sleeved blouse and jean shorts.
"No, I apologize for visiting unannounced." Yuki bowed.
I laughed slightly. "A prince as usual. Did you need something?"
"Actually..." Yuki straightened and glanced at the flowers growing by my door.
"I was wondering if you'd like to go somewhere with me."
I leaned against my door with a small, teasing smile.
"And where would I be whisked away to?"
"Just a small park. I thought it would be a nice change of scenery."
I smiled brightly. "That sounds great, would you mind if I changed first?"
"What you're wearing now is fine, but I don't mind waiting."
"Thank you! I'll be right out." I promised before escaping inside.
"Who was it?" My fathers voice drifted from the living room.
"Just a salesman, I'm going out to study."
"Sure you are. I don't care. Just don't bring home any other tramps."
I grit my teeth as I threw some snacks and money in my purse and ran a brush through my hair.
"You listening?" He demanded.
"Yes father. Goodbye." I raced to the door and locked it behind me before smiling at Yuki.
"Alright I'm good!"
"What was your father saying? That was your father right?"
"Just to be safe." I lied easily. "So which way are we going?"
"This way."I laughed softly as Yuki shooed away a rat sniffing his shoe.
"They really like you huh." I grinned as I wove a flower into the crown I was making.
"Yes, they always come near me when I'm out. It can be quite irritating."
I covered my mouth to hide my giggle.
"Dont laugh." He sighed pleadingly.
I stifled my laugh but grinned.
"Yes sir your majesty!"
Yuki let his head drop and I could practically feel the disappointment radiating off him stop.
"Relax Yuki, it's only a joke." I teased as his face grew pink.
He suddenly sat up and opened him mouth to say something. He froze when I set the flower crown on his head.
"Its perfect! Do you know how hard it is to find flowers within reach that match silver?" I complained as I arranged the crown.
"It's not that hard." He mumbled as he looked away.Pov change to Yuki!!!
"It is though, your hair is seriously difficult." Mitsumi complained.
I smoked softly, if she'd been any other person I would be have already taken off the girly crown. But for some reason I didn't feel the desire to.
Yuki
It sounded so nice when she said it. Especially since I was so used to being called prince and sir prince by her.
I had planned to just walk around today, but I had ended up in front if her house, I had knocked on her door without thinking and had said the first excuse I could think of.
A park.
"You always dress so neatly, it's so frustrating!" She was saying. "I can try to look nice but look like I just crawled out if the bushes an hour later. What's your secret?"
I smiled. I smiled a lot around her. "I dont have a secret."
"There's no way you look this good all the time without some cheat!" She protested.
My stomach twisted itself. "How good do I look?" I teased while she was distracted.
"Abnormally good! Honestly you really could be a prince." She mumbled as she picked a few flowers.
I glanced away as my cheeks warmed.
"I couldn't act the part." I denied.
Mitsumi looked up with wide eyes. I'd always thought brown was such a simple color, but looking at Mitsumi, it was obvious how wrong I was.
Her hair was a million different shades all blending into a spectacular rainbow that changed color every time she moved, yet remaining brown.
Her eyes were a dark brown chocolate color, like hot chocolate with way too much chocolate. But warm nonetheless.
What caught my eye wasn't the color though, it was the expressions she would have every so often when she thought no one was looking.
A wistful glance at the plate as we ate fries.
A tearful gaze at a swingset.
A slight frown when her father was mentioned.
And a million other things.
I blinked as I realized she was still talking.
"...wonderful! But I dont want to be late again, so I should go."
"Let me walk you." I insisted suddenly. I didn't know where she'd just been talking about going, but if it meant we could talk for just a bit longer...
"Well... I don't see why not. But it's just work, I'll be fine walking there alone." She added as she stood.
"Yes but it's safer if I walk you." I added as I stood to help her up.
"Well, fine. I guess I don't have an option." She laughed.
I smiled and walked beside her as she led me to her job.
