I hummed as I cooked. I would've only been cooking breakfast for myself, but Yuki had taken to sleeping in the guest bedroom to 'make sure my father stayed away'.
"Hmmnnnnn."
"You're up late." I commented as Yuki walked sleepily into the kitchen.
"Hmm."
I smiled softly and flipped the omelette onto a plate.
"Here you go sunshine."
"It's wonderful not having to wake up to people fighting." Yuki sighed as he picked up his fork.
I laughed and began packing myself a lunch.
Every day after school for the past week Yuki had gone home, but returned here at exactly 8 to make sure I was okay and had eaten.
After checking he would talk with me for a bit as we did homework before I went to bed. I wssnt sure when exactly he went to bed but I knew it was sometime after 11.
"You ready to go?" Yuki asked as he stood with his backpack.
"Yeah I'm ready. You've got your lunch right?"
"Of course." I laughed quietly. Yuki hadn't kissed me since that day last week, nor had we held hands. But he always kissed my cheek before I went to bed.
"I really don't want to deal with your fanclub again today though. They're upset I walk with you in the mornings."
"Hmm, really? Should I talk to them?"
"No! They're crazier than you are!"
"How am I crazy?" Yuki looked .at me sideways.
I rolled my eyes. "Please. You sleep in my house, you chased off my father, you even-what?" I stopped sentence.
Yuki flicked his gaze away from me.
"Nothing. I was just thinking it was cute how you argue."
My cheeks warmed, "it is not!"
"It is."
"You're nothing like a prince."
"Thank you." He flashed his blinding smile as he held open the door to the house.

"Hey rat! I need to talk to you!" Kyo stormed over and dragged Yuki out of the room. Torhu followed them closely. I shrugged and sat down in my seat as the fanclub appeared.
"Mitsumi Akasha!"
"Yes Fanclub?"
"Why were you and Yuki walking together again huh?" The lead girl demanded.
I sighed. Again. They couldn't even change their questions. "We bumped into eachother."
"How? Yuki has walked to school on the same path at the same time everyday!"
I shrugged. "He must have changed his route." I laughed knowingly.
"What's that mean?" A girl demanded. I shrugged.
"It means a lot of things."
I smirked as the bell rang and they took off for class. Yuki, Kyo, and Torhu all reappeared in class and took their seats.
I mildly wondered what they were talking about, but brushed it off as them questioning where he was.

"I'm really sorry Mitsumi. I'll try to get back as soon as I can...there's just something I need to take care of first."
I waved it off. "Relax. Nothing is going to happen to me while you're gone. Worst possible outcome is I order myself a milkshake!"
Yuki smiled softly, I was worried because he seemed out of it, but he assured me everything would be fine. So I brushed away my worry.
"But what would you like for breakfast tomorrow? I might stop by the store."
"Pancakes." He decided.
I nodded. "Pancakes it is. I'm good at pancakes."
"I'll see you soon then."
"Yeah. Bye Yuki." I lifted my hand and turned to go.
"Mitsumi wait!"
I turned only for Yuki t suddenly pull me forward, and into a kiss.
It wasn't long, but it was passionate enough for my cheeks to grow red and for the elderly couple across the street to laugh and say, "young love."
I stared at Yuki breathlessly as he pulled away.
"I'll see you soon." He promised before quickly walking away.
I stared for a second, but turned and quickly headed home.
I shut the door behind me and just made it to my room before collapsing against my wall and touching my lips.
"He didn't kiss me like that the first time...." I whispered. The first time had been planned, the second time had been quick. This time had been full of emotion and need.
I blinked as the door opened downstairs.
"That was quick. Did your thing get cancelled Yuki-..."
Standing at the bottom of my steps wasn't Yuki. It was a dark haired boy wearing a black turtleneck with an angry look on his face.
"Can I help you?"
