Chapter 21 - Popcorn

[BEFORE THE CHAP STARTS:

I stared at the paper in confusion and, although it's absurd, it felt to me like it was staring back at me. It made me uncomfortable. It made me feel uneasy. It made me feel kind of sick. I was told that I was unconscious for only some days, but not a week and definitely not a whole month. This had to be a mistake. At least that's what I was trying to tell myself, but something told me that something was off, something no one told me about.

After I was done cleaning up the office yesterday, I decided to take the paper with me. I hid it under my mattress, not like anyone would look for it anyway, but I was paranoid. Right now, I was sitting in the school library, sitting in the back corner secretly listening to my music while hiding behind a book. Just when Prom Queen by Beach Bunny came to an end, I felt a tap on my head and I looked up to find Drew. "Hey, uh, you're Serena, right?" he asked and I nodded.

"You see, I wanted to, uh, I-I did something stupid and- and uhm, I want to make it up to Dawn and you're her best friend and I-I'm sorry I'm just very nervous, because that other friend May almost ripped my head off." he explained, making me laugh. "She's actually very kind once you get to know her."

"Yeah well, I want to make up for what I did and I already tried everything, but she just won't listen and I don't judge her for that, but I don't want to give up on her." he rapidly spoke, almost eminem-ish, if that is even a term. "What did you have in mind?"

"I have some ideas, but I need help with settling on one and that's the part I thought you could help me with? If that's okay? Please?" he pleaded and I couldn't resist. "Everything for Dawn. When should we start?" I asked and he grinned.

"Could you meet me later at the cinema?" he asked and I nodded in response. "Is after school okay?" I asked in return and he nodded. "That's fine! Thank you so much Serena! I owe you one!" he screamed as he ran out of the library loaded with energy and enthusiasm. That was gonna be fun.

[After School]

I was waiting in the cold in front of the cinema as the scent of warm and fresh popcorn hit me and I couldn't wait to go inside. Thinking about it, why did Drew choose the cinema? I mean, planning a date during a movie sounds odd.

"Serena?"

I turned around to see Drew smiling at me with a college block and a pencil case in his hands. "Oh, great, it's you! Let's go inside!" he enthusiastically ran inside and I laughed at his energy. He was a perfect fit for Dawn and nothing could change my mind.

"Sit down!"

Drew sat down at a table as I said down across from him. "By the way, Drew, uhm, why the cinema?" I asked and he smiled. This boy is always smiling. "Simple. It smells like popcorn, it's warm and no soul sits here, because people only come here to watch movies." he answered. "Okay so, should we start?"

"Sure!"

[An hour later]

"Serena, I cannot thank you enough. You're a literal angel!" Drew said as he stared at the college block paper with the plan written on. "It wasn't much Drew, really." I told him, but he shook his head. "No! It was! You don't even know how much this means to me!" Drew spoke, making me chuckle.

"Yeah Sere. You don't even know how much this means to him."

I looked up to see Ash standing next to our table. While his body language looked rather kind and open, his expression spit a little fire. He looked mad, angry if not even. "Drew?"

"Hi Ash! This is Se-"

"Yeah, I know. She's my girlfriend."

Drew looked shocked. Not the offended or mad kind of shocked, but just plain shocked, before slowly, I genuine smile crept up his lips. "Oh my god, why didn't you tell me? I'm so happy for you two!" Drew smiled at us and I returned the smile, even though it was an awkward smile. Ash let out a cough and stared directly at Drew, trying to communicate. "Hm? Oh! Yeah, uh, Serena I'll get going! Thank you so much, I don't know what I would've done without you!" Drew smiled and got out, as Ash sat down next to me.

"Drew huh?"

"Yeah. He asked me if I could help him with a date for him and Dawn." I empathized their names, but he didn't budge. "I don't like to share a lot. I'll share with you, but I won't share you. Don't meet up with other boys without telling me first, or I'll get stupid angry please." he bumped his head onto my shoulder and I let out a chuckle at his behavior. "Okay. I'll tell you."

"Good. Now that we're over with this, I got popcorn." he said and put a big bag of popcorn on the table that he pulled out from the booth behind us. "That's a lot!"
I exclaimed, making him laugh. "I thought you'd like some snacks." he said as I digged into the popcorn. "I love snacks." I muttered under my munching as I enjoyed the popcorn. "Really?" Ash asked and I nodded. "Mhm, but I'm more of a sweet tooth." I explained as he laughed at me. "What?"

"Adorable."

His words made me shy, but I continued eating the popcorn as we talked.

"When we met, you said you've been living in Kalos for only some years. You lived in Kanto before, right?" Ash asked and I nodded. "I'm originally Kalosian, but my parents lived in Kanto for some reason." I told him. "Really? I'm originally Kantosian, but I live in Kalos!" he said and I laughed. "When did you move here exactly?"

"Two years ago in summer. Why do you ask?"

"No reason."

We continued talking and time passed fast. This was a nice day. This day made me feel at ease. I felt comfortable. And the more we talked, the better I felt. The more we talked, the realer we felt. The more we talked, the clearer I could see the 'us'.

Hi. Guess who updated. Hiii. Guess who did it. Hiiiiiii. Guess who has holidays now. If u find mistakes tell me, you know how lazy I am hahaaaa. Wonder why Ash asked her when she moved her? Me too.
I guess we'll find out soon. Also, sorry that this chapter is kind of short. I'll try to work on writing more. :/
