Amy's POV

"And that is why we study history." concluded our teacher.

I noticed students huffing and rolling their eyes, while some listened intently. "Now...you can do this with a partner." continued our teacher. She wrote on the board. Oh. We have homework today.

At dismissal, Bella and Bridget went to me. "Guess we're gonna have to cram." laughed Bella.

"Why's that?" I smiled.

Bridget shrugged. "We both have practice the entire day."

"Oh...good luck." I chuckled.

They nodded and exited the room to who knows where. I waved at them and smiled. I just held my gaze there, eventually making eye contact with Toby. Blushing, I managed to flash a small smile then continued fixing my stuff. I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked to the door, only to be stopped by Toby. "Yeah?" I smiled.

Toby grinned. "Amy, I'd like you to meet my friends, Taylor and Chris. They're cousins with each other."

He gestured to a brunette girl and a mature looking boy. "Hi." I politely greeted.

Taylor smiled. "Hey!"

"Amy...aren't you the one who always scores higher than me?" chuckled Chris.

I slowly said, "Um...I guess so..."

"Oh. Cool. Awesome brain you got there."

I smiled a little. "Thanks I guess."

"Anyway, we gotta go. See you around." Taylor waved.

"Ok, bye." I watched her drag Chris out of the room.

"So..." Toby said, making me face him.

"Hmm?"

"Wanna come over?"

My eyes widened. "I mean, it would be awesome if you met my brothers. And, we can do our homework together. I don't like working alone." he chuckled.

I made a skeptical face. I mean, why wouldn't I? Anna was glaring at me as if she wanted be gone. Toby looked at the direction I was looking. "Don't mind her."

I nodded slowly and replied, "Ok, why not?"

He flashed a grin, and we walked to the front of the building. A car pulled in front of us. He whispered, "Big bros are picking me up."

I smiled and nodded. He opened the door for me and we both hopped in. I saw a dirty blonde sitting by the wheel, and another hazel eyed guy in the passenger's seat. The blonde spoke, "Tobes brought home a pretty girl."

I blushed. "Whatever. She's a friend." Toby laughed.

The other brother faced us and smiled. "Well, introduce us."

Toby returned the smile. "Ok. Amy, these are my brothers Connor and Riley. Bros, this is Amy. We're classmates."

Connor, the blonde, smiled. "Hey."

Then as he drove away, Riley greeted, "Hellooo. You must be Paul Hill's daughter."

I smiled at both of them. "Yeah. Toby told me about you knowing my parents."

Riley winked. "Yup. So, what are you and Tobius doing today?"

I looked at Toby. "We're gonna do homework today." Toby answered.

Connor chuckled. "Have fun."

"Eh."

We eventually arrived and Connor pulled into the driveway. We all got down and went in their house. "Make yourself at home." all three said.

"Um, ok. Thank you." I smiled.

When we got to the living room, a little dog ran to us. Riley picked him up and cuddled it. Connor smiled as he pat the dog. "This is Tank by the way."

"Aww." I cooed.

"Everyone thinks so." Toby smirked.

The two brothers went their own way, and Toby and I went to his room. We sat by his desk and did our work together. We'd occasionally laugh at the mistakes we made while writing and reading. Besides being with the twins, I'd never really have this much fun. "Alexander the Great never did that!" I laughed.

Toby facepalmed and laughed as well. "Oh yeah!"

I bet the neighbors could hear our laughs but I don't care.

When we finished studying, we packed our stuff. I smiled. "If I knew I was coming over, I should have brought your shirt."

"It's alright." Toby smiled. He checked the time. "It's still pretty early. Wanna watch movies? Just in the living room anyway."

I nodded. "Sure."

We went downstairs. Connor and Riley weren't there, so I sat on the black couch. Toby arrived from the kitchen with a bag of Cheetos. "What movie?" he asked.

"Hmm...Spiderman 2?" I suggested.

He smiled. "Ok."

Toby put the DVD in and sat next to me.

- Toby's POV -

Amy was a great person to be with. I wonder why I'd get along so well. She's quiet, but cheerful and gentle. And smart as well. Ok, enough mush.

I liked working on homework with her, and I'm enjoying her company as we watched Spiderman in the living room. Halfway through the movie, I remembered what happened a few days ago. Amy cried a little in front of me. I whispered to her, "You ok now? I mean...yeah."

Amy nodded slowly, "Mhmm. Thanks."

I guess under her demure smile lay a sadder self. I don't see though why she'd be invisible to many. She's cool in her own way. Well, I hope I can "make a difference" in her life. Like, help her out. What am I saying? I sound like Riley.

I was disrupted in my thoughts when Riley joined us in the movie. Connor was probably cooped in his room.

After Spiderman, we watched 21 Jump Street and then went on a throwback and watched Home Alone. Towards the end, I felt Amy's head resting on my shoulder. She'd fallen asleep. "Riley." I whispered.

Riley put the TV off. "It's pretty late. Let's take her home."

I nodded and carefully carried Amy. Riley and I got into the car with him driving. When we got to Amy's house, I knocked on the door. Her sister opened it. "Ok..." Hazel looked at the sleeping Amy.

"She did homework with me then we had a movie marathon." I smiled.

Hazel shrugged, "Good for her. Come in. Her room's here."

I followed Hazel up to Amy's neat room and put her down on her bed. I said goodbye to Hazel and went back to Riley in the car. "So..." Riley started.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Nice friend you got there."

"Definitely." I smiled. "But..." I continued, eventually sharing how Amy felt around others.

"I guess that's why you became her friend." Riley smiled.

"Yeah." I agreed. "She's awesome anyway."

We're supposed to make a difference right? Right. I hope I did.
