Amy's POV

"Hold still!" said Hazel.

"Ugh." I groaned as my sister put make up on me. I wasn't a very big fan of it after all.

I looked to the mirror and saw the twins fixing their hair. "Looking good." I laughed.

"Thanks." they grinned.

After a few more minutes, Hazel proceeded to curl my hair. Then she put it into a bun, with a few strands hanging loose. "There." she smirked proudly.

Bella whistled. "Awesome."

Bridget nodded and I just blushed. "Thanks you two. Thanks Hazel."

She winked. "Now go, or you'll be late!"

We laughed and went downstairs. Dad drove us to school, and we could see the gym shining with strobe lights and music blaring. Don't worry. This wasn't a club party- it was more like prom. Besides, teachers were there. "Thanks Dad." I smiled.

"Alright." he said.

Bella, Bridget and I got off and walked inside. All Night by Icona Pop was playing as we went around. I could see Anna giggling with a bunch of her friends. Too bad I can't be smiling that much. I'm trying to avoid you know who. "Let's eat first." Bella laughed.

Bridget playfully slapped her sister. "Eating already?"

"You got a better idea?" smirked Bella.

"Nah. Let's eat."

I laughed and followed them to the snack table and shared some fries with them. We also got some soda. But knowing myself, I'm not a party person. I just kept watching the people who passed by. Yep. Bella had gone to dance with her crush. I don't know. Bridget and I though, weren't big part goers, so we sat by some bleachers and ate our fries in peace. "What to do..." she mumbled.

I teased. "Don't you have any special someone?"

"Give me Connor McDonough then." she laughed.

I chuckled. "But you can go anywhere. Don't worry about me."

Bridget shrugged. "Maybe later. Too lazy."

Agreed, Bridget. After a few more minutes of small talk, she said she'd get pizza then stay outside because the noise was too much for her. I nodded as she stood up and disappeared into the sea of students.

I continued my people watching- in a non-creepy way. Then at that moment, I spotted a tall boy with perfectly fixed hair. "Toby..." I very silently whispered.

Unluckily, he made eye contact. In desperation, I quickly got up and went around, hoping to make him loose sight of me. After no signs of him following me, I went out of the gym and to the lounge in the library. I fell onto a couch and read a recent text from Bella.

Bella: Me likey this day ;)

Me: Good for you :D

As soon as I sent that, I closed my eyes and hoped to relax in peace. Turns out I was wrong. A minute or two later, someone said, "Finally found you."

My eyes burst open and I looked back to see a boy leaning by the door. "Oh..." I whispered.

Toby came closer and took a seat beside me. I shifted about awkwardly. Not the best situation. He smiled. "You ok?"

"Y-yeah, yeah." I stuttered, just like when I first met him.

An awkward silence fell between us. There were so many things I wanted to say, but being the soft spoken person I am, I didn't say a thing. Toby broke the silence. "Sorry."

"F-for what?" I asked.

He faced me. "Well, giving you a hard time. Making things...worse. I didn't mean to." He smiled so sincerely that I smiled back.

"Don't apologize. It's not your fault. I should be saying sorry." I tried to stay serious, but a tear fell from my eyes, and my voice was shaky. "Sorry for...for venting out on you."

"Hey, I understand, so it's ok." Toby consoled. He took my hand and pulled me to my feet. "Don't let it get to you."

"I hate myself for saying such things to you." I sniffed. "Even after the entire time you've been kind."

And at that moment, I felt his arms wrap around me. "Shh. It's ok, Amy." he whispered.

My tears fell more, and I just held onto his shoulders and buried my face in his chest. He just kept his arms around me as I helplessly cried. After a few minutes, we pulled away. "Sorry, I'm surprisingly emotional and sensitive." I slightly chuckled.

"That's fine." Toby smiled.

He looked at me, but I just looked at the floor. With his finger, he lifted my chin and made me face him. "We can do better now. So, can we...try this again? Toby smirked.

My tense grip on his shoulders relaxed. Then, I smiled very widely. "You know the answer."

Our foreheads touched and we just grinned at each other.

All is well.
