Chapter Nine
*Matty's POV*
I was sat in my room, revising over the notes from today. My thought train was interupted by a loud banging on the door. No one ever visited, except for the police and detectives.
I put down my pen, and opened my door. From downstairs, I heard my dad open the door, and a loud bang followed. Like a gunshot.
Another one followed.
I knew for a fact that one was a gunshot, but silencenced, as to not make a scene. I shut my door, and propped it with a chair.
Why was this happening?
No noise followed. That was bad, that meant they knew I was here. I eyed the window, but I saw some men outside.
Had something happened with Lizzie? Is this why this was happening?
I had a BB gun... but really. That wasn't any match for an actual gun.
What had happened to my parents? I daren't open my door, I know someone will be waiting for me.
Man up Matty. You're sister is missing, god knows what she has had to endure. Something has happened to your parents too, probably. I grabbed my paintball gun instead, they hurt more. Like, crack ribs hurt.
I moved the chair, and started to sound record on my phone in my pocket. Sometimes watching a lot of TV helps.
Deep breath in, deep breath out.
My hand was on the handle, the other on the trigger of the gun.
Sorry for potentially making a mess mom.
I opened the door, and there was a man dressed head to toe in black, a ski mask covering all but his eyes. He held up a gun, aimed right at my head. As soon as I opened the door, he smiled, and pulled the trigger.
The split second the bullet was flying through the air, impulses to over, and I managed to dodge the bullet. God knows how.
He was stunned for a second, and I took advantage of this, by shooting him right in the chest with the paintball gun. I knew for a fact it hurts without a vest, it hurt a damn lot even with a vest. Bright blue covered his top as he stumbled back, clutching his chest.
I flew down the stairs, to see my mom and dad laying on the floor, blood spilling from them.
They weren't moving, or breathing. Two more men were in the room, holding guns. I shot at them, missing, causing blue, green and pink to tie dye the walls. They were shooting too, but missed. I managed to shoot one in the head, I don't know how. It knocked him out from the impact. The other looked stunned, before I aimed for his head too.
A bit of luck was on my side, as I hit him, dead between the eyes.
I went to my mom, and checked for a pulse, but there wasn't one. Her eyes were open, blood spilled down the chest.
"I'm sorry mom, I will find her." I whispered, before closing her eyes.
I made my way over to my dad. I didn't even need to check for a pulse, I knew he was dead. Shot in the head. No one can survive that.
Grabbing some rope, I tied the two knocked out gunmen to the pillar we had in the kitchen, so they wouldn't escape. It was then when I remembered the man upstairs.
I cautiously made my way upstairs, he was still sat there, breathing deeply. Maybe I had broken a few ribs. Kicking his gun away, I crouched down, now eye level to him.
