I'M SORRY!! PART 5

New knew that Pete was in a relationship since the whole world knows about it, even their office staffs, but New couldn't stop himself from feeling good towards the other. Since the beginning, New liked Pete's boldness and working spirit. He even liked his teasings whenever they worked together. But...

But, Pete has someone in his life and New knew that if he forcefully tries to fit himself between them, he would be the one that would get left out in the end, and the feeling of liking someone and not getting back in return, is one of the worst feeling ever. So, New decided to distance himself from Pete, after all, it was only best for him.

It was 2.30 pm by the time Pete and New reached office. They were tired but they still had works to do. Pete was looking at New who somehow maintained his distance like he had decided before. He kept ignoring Pete and kept doing his works, not realising that a certain someone was getting irritated.

"New, can you pass me the files?" Pete asked intentionally, because he wanted to talk to New, but the other just passed him the files without saying anything. Pete looked even more irritated. "Hey, you passed me the wrong one. I need the other one" He emphasised and thought New would talk him back, but the other just grabbed the files and forwarded it to Pete, silently.

Pete didn't understand why New was being ignorant towards him. He was looking good until this morning. Then why suddenly?

The whole afternoon went just like that. Pete was trying to talk to New, but New kept ignoring him. He would talk to Pete only if it was needed other than that, he would just ignore him. Pete didn't knew how hard New was trying to keep his distance from him, but the other kept trying to invade it.

And it went out of Pete's limit. He wanted to interrogate New about his behaviour and walked towards the other who was standing in the office balcony, sipping his coffee.

"Hey" Pete called, and saw New turning around to look at him. He still didn't say anything and just kept drinking his coffee.

"New, did I do something?" Pete asked, looking intently at New. New just shook his head and looked away. He didn't want to talk about it. "Then, why are you ignoring me?" The other asked, looking somehow agitated now.

But New still kept silent. He didn't want to look at Pete because it would be hard for him to give up if he did that. Pete had Kao, his boyfriend, he just came to know about the others name later today, and knowing that, New wouldn't want to step into a landmine that would only injure him. So, he just ignored everything.

But Pete wasn't going to do that. He wanted to know why New was ignoring him and kept pressing him.

"Hey, why aren't you talking to me?" Pete was following New everywhere, where ever the other went. But New didn't respond to Pete. He had already told him that nothing was wrong and he wasn't ignoring him, but Pete didn't believe it and kept following New.

"If nothing's wrong, then why are you ignoring me?" Pete was more irritated by now.

New looked irritated as well. He turned around almost immediately to look at Pete. "Look Pete, we have finished our works so I don't have anything to do with you now. I have my own work to handle, so you too better focus on your work, ok?" He finished it and almost turned around to leave, but Pete grabbed New's arm and stopped him, making the other look back in shock. New was looking between Pete and his hand.

"So, that's all it was for you?" Pete asked, staring right into New's eyes, looking serious. New didn't know what to say anymore. He was seriously confused now because of Pete's behaviour.

"Yeah, that's all" New replied sternly. He was determined that he would let go of his feelings, but, Pete was making it hard for him.

"Are you sure?" The other asked, narrowing his eyes, and New felt even more irritated. He yanked off his hand from Pete's grip and looked at the other in the eyes.
