It's a Friday night, the office is pretty much empty. The only people here are my team and boss, we're using the meeting room right across from his office. He seems like he's in a really heated phone call, his office is pretty much sound proof but some yells still leak out from time to time.
"I wonder who he's talking to."
"Probably his girlfriend."
"I didn't know he had a girl."
"Guys! your getting off topic. We're here to work, not to gossip."
Everyone stops talking and looks at their paper, the meeting starts up again. We go over the finishing touches of the project, its been two weeks of working late nights and weekends. Today we're finally finishing it.
"Ok it's done."
"Ugh finally, I haven't had a chance to go clubbing since this project started."
"Ooooh let me go with you."
"I'll come too. Y/n you coming?"
"We still have to send this. Besides, I'm not much of a club person. You go, I'll send it."
"You're the best bestie ever you know that? See you tomorrow to celebrate?"
"Wouldn't miss it. Now go, girls drink free is almost over."
They all leave the office, leaving me alone in the office with Jaehyun. That fact makes me feel weird. I've only been alone with him once, and that was already way too awkward for my liking. I grab my laptop and close the meeting room before walking to my desk.
I set my stuff down and flop onto my chair. A big sigh leaves my mouth. I look over the project one last time before sending it. I start getting ready to leave when I hear someone walking into my office area. I grab my bag and walk into the row between the cubicles, I turn and see Jaehyun walking straight towards me. My breath catches as I look at his serious face, he's giving off an intimidating aura.

I can't move. I understand now why people are so captivated by him, his gaze is piercing. He continues to walk towards me showing no sign of stopping. I break eye contact and look at the floor, I bring myself to turn around and start walking towards the exit.
"y/n wait!"
Jaehyun's voice is right behind me, I sigh inwardly as I turn towards him. What could he want now?
"Yes boss?"
"Um, how's the project going?"
"We just finished tonight."
"Great, that means you're free to do other things right?"
"Yea I guess I am."
Wait, why is he asking me that? I swear if he makes me do something else for him that will take up my precious free time.
"Can you do me a favour?"
"Depends on the favour."
"As you probably might have heard, I had an argument with my mother on the phone."
"We didn't exactly hear everything."
"Well let me get you caught up then. My sister is getting married in a few weeks and my mom has been on my case about bringing a date. To the point where I'm not allowed to attend without one."
"What does that have to do with me again?"
" I was going to ask if you'd be my date for the wedding."
"...But why me?"
"Well you're the only girl in this office who's not into me."
You've got to be kidding me. He's only asking me because I'm not in love with him. If he isn't going to give me a raise I'm not doing it.
"What's in it for me?"
"Pardon?"
"What do I get out of this?"
"What do you want?"
" A raise."
"Ok fine. I'll come get you on Sunday and we'll start."
"Wait start? start what?"
"I have to train you, my mom is smart without training she'll know that we are not together."
"Together? As in dating? You never said I had to pretend to be your girlfriend."
"Oops I forgot to mention that. Silly me, anyway see you Sunday love."
With that he left towards the elevator leaving me shocked in the middle of my cube row. What did I get myself into?
