Chapter 6 Family dinner

Today is the day I introduce Jaehyun to my mother and family members. We plan on telling her the same story we told his sister, hopefully we thought far enough ahead to answer every question she could possibly ask.

My mom is pretty smart, I just hope that our lies are believable enough to fool her. If she does I hope she'll play along. I fix my hair in the mirror and straighten out my dress, I finish up my makeup and make my way downstairs. Jaehyun is already in the living room. He's wearing a dark blue short sleeved dress shirt and black dress pants. I told him earlier to not dress too fancy since we're only going to my family's house for dinner, not a high end restaurant. I'm surprised he actually took what I said to heart. I walk towards him, gaining his attention.

"Oh you're finally ready."

"You're making it sound like I take forever to get ready."

"You do, I've been waiting down here for a while now."

"Lies and slander. And to think I was going to compliment your outfit."

"Oh really now, are you warming up to me already?"

"You wish."

"I really do. Let's get going now, you don't want to be late. We could always say that I couldn't keep my hands off you in that dress as a lie."

"I rather not, that'll give my mom fangirl material."

"I can't wait to meet her already."

"Then let's go."

We take one of his less expensive cars and make the hour-long journey to my family's house. We managed to avoid rush hour and got there 10 minutes early. We ring the doorbell and wait for one of my relatives to open the door. After 5 minutes of waiting my mom opens the door, she gives me a tight hug before giving one to Jaehyun. We walk into the house and are welcomed by my close family and some of my childhood friends. There's about 10 people in here apart from me and Jaehyun, mom see's the shocked expression on my face and tries to explain herself.

"I might have invited a few people to this dinner, and by a few I mean everyone we're close to."

"Mom! this was supposed to be between us, I wasn't ready to let the whole neighbourhood know."

"I know I'm sorry sweetie, I'll tell them to leave."

"Wait no, they already came all this way there's no point now."

" That's nice of you babe, meeting a lot of people all at once can be intimidating but I can really learn a lot about you from these people."

"That's what I'm afraid of."

"Well if they don't have to leave, let's get this dinner party started."

We spend the next few hours playing games, getting to know each other and eating dinner while watching family feuds. Jaehyun seems to be having a good time, he's screaming at the tv like all my other relatives, he's adapting really well. As the night goes on they start to question us, I'm forced to sit on Jaehyun's lap during all of it.

We try our best to sell it, looking into each other's eyes for dramatic effect. Jaehyun wraps his arms around my waist and I rest my hands on his arms, all while smiling. The perfect couple facade in full effect, my mom gives me questioning looks from time to time when I let my guard down but I reassure her with a smile. After another hour of questions it's time for our guest to go home. Jaehyun picks up our stuff and we prepare to leave, but my mom seems to have something else in mind.

"Oh no you two aren't going anywhere."

"Um, why not?"

"You're going to spend the night here, It's way too late for you two to drive home. So you're sleeping in the guest room, also known as your old room."

"Mom it's fine, we don't want to intrude."

"Don't be silly, this is your house."

"Come on babe we can stay the night we don't have anything planned for tomorrow anyway."

"Fine...we'll stay. Common Jae, let's go to my room."

"I'll bring him one of your dad's old shirts. I'll be there in a minute."

We walk to my old room and sit on the bed. I get up and look through my draws for one of the shirts I used to sleep in when I was in college. Instead I find a tank top with spaghetti straps, I shrug and bring it to the washroom. Mom gives Jaehyun his shirt to wear to bed while I change in the washroom, I can hear their conversation through the wall. I walk out of the washroom in nothing but my tank top and underwear. I'm glad I talked myself out of wearing a thong today. The cheeky underwear I did end up wearing still make's me tug at the bottom of my tank top, I know Jaehyun's going to make some stupid comment about what I'm wearing.

I walk back into the room to find Jaehyun in nothing but his boxers. The shirt my mom got him on the bed stand, he's probably going to wear it in the morning. As I take in what I'm seeing it hits me, we're both basically half naked and we're supposed to sleep together. I'm tempted to sleep on the coach but that would raise suspicion.

"Are you going to spend all night standing there or are you going to go to bed."

I zoned out so long I didn't notice him move towards the bed.

"Yea, I was just thinking."

"You can do that in bed."

"Alright alright I'm coming, relax."

I walk towards the other side of the bed but he calls me over to his side. Confused, I walk towards him until I'm right in front of him.

"That's a very seductive nightie."

"My usual oversized shirt wasn't there. This wasn't my first choice, I knew you'd comment on it."

"I like it, you never really wear sexy things in my presence."

"That's because unlike my coworkers I'm not trying to seduce you."

Jaehyun gives me a look before leaning down until his lips are right beside my ear, his breath sending shivers down my spine.

"You may not be trying but that's the effect you're having on me."

shocked I look up at him, he has his signature smirk on his face. Annoyed, I roll my eyes at him and turn to leave.

"I knew you were bullshitting me"

Before I can walk away he pulls me into him. His arms wrapped around my chest tightly, keeping me in place. We stay like that for a few minutes before he lets me go.

"What was that about?"

"I just wanted to hold you for a minute."

"Seemed like you wanted to hold my boobs more than hold me."

"They were in the way."

"Sure they were, now let's go to bed. I'll climb over to my side from here, I'm pretty sure you won't let me walk around the bed."

I climb over the bed and crawl to my side, I can feel Jaehyun's eyes on my ass. I felt the shirt ride up when he held me. Once I get to my side I sit down and turn to him, He's licking his lips. I roll my eyes and he joins me. We go under the sheet and lie down. After a minute I feel his hands around my hips, He drags me towards him. We spent the night cuddled together.
