Chapter 8 Avoiding

After the wedding rehearsal I've been keeping my distance from Jaehyun. Now that I've developed a deep emotional connection with him, I'm starting to feel things around him. If he knew he would definitely milk it for all its worth, he'd tease me endlessly.

At home I hide in my room, only coming out when necessary. He was a bit suspicious at first but I convinced him that I was working on a project. At work it's easier to hide from him, Kate alerts me if he's coming and I duck under my table. This has been going on for about a week now, and I can tell that Jaehyun is getting annoyed at my antics. Today would definitely be the day he snapped.

"Pst, boss is coming."

"Shi-"

As Kate gave the signal I could see Jaehyun coming from the corner of my eye. I duck under my desk right as he reaches our pod.

"Where is she?"

"Where is who?"

"Cut the crap Kate I know y/n is here, I saw her a minute ago."

"Oh y/n Yea she was here a minute ago you just missed her, she went to the bathroom."

"Ok then I'll just wait for her to return."

"No! She said she'll be there for a while, something about potential food poisoning."

"Oh I should go check on her then."

"You don't have to, she'll be fine."

"Then I'll stay here and keep you company in her place."

"I uh sure."

"I have a question, since you know her so well. Do you know why she's been avoiding me?"

"This seems like a repeat of her last relationship. She found out she was demi sexual and not asexual and she avoided the guy for like a week."

"She mentioned being demi sexual before but I don't actually remember what that means."

" It means that she'll only be sexual attracted to you once a deep emotional connection is developed between you two. Seems to me like there is now, she has to adjust to those feelings all over again. I'm kind of jealous, it seems enjoyable."

"Oh really now, this is helpful information."

"Oh no, I gave you the perfect thing to screw with her."

"Oh yes you gave me everything i nee-"

"ACHOO!"

Right when I was going to cuss Kate out I let out the biggest sneeze of my life. Jaehyun definitely knows I'm here, and to make matters worse my head is at the same level as his crotch right now. This couldn't be a more compromising position, if he looks under the table he's going to see me on the floor looking like I'm about to blow him off. Why did he have to sit down at my desk of all places?

"Ah there you are.. oh uh this is new."

"This doesn't look good from this angle."

"Looks worse to me."

"Oooh let me see."

Kate being well Kate walks over to where we are and looks over Jaehyun's shoulders. She wiggles her eyebrows at me and gives me her knowing face.

"Kate don't say it."

"Would you guys like some privacy? Seems like y/n couldn't wait till you guys got home. Like damn I know your now all sexually aware and all girl but you need to exercise restraint at work."

"That's it I'm going to murder you!"

"Jaehyun hold her back!"

I tried to lunge for Kate but Jaehyun used his legs to block me.Instead of landing on my target I landed on his lap. When I looked up she was gone, beyond annoyed I hit Jaehyun's thigh and rested my head on the other.

"You okay baby girl?"

"Can you stop that! This is why I've been avoiding you. You can't just say those things to me, not now."

"Why does it make your heart race?"

"I-I don't have to answer that!"

"So that's a yes, huh this demi sexual stuff makes you so sensitive to my prodding. I like it."

"That makes one of us. It's so annoying having to get to the feelings again."

"If you told me I could have tried to make the experience better."

"By doing what?"

"Whatever you want, we are lovers now aren't we?"

"I-"

"It's settled tonight we're going to make you familiar with your new hormones. be prepared for a night of pure romance."

With that Jaehyun left and went to his office, I slowly crawled out from under my desk. I made eye contact with some of Jaehyun's fangirls who seemed to be watching the whole thing play out. They send me a glare, I give them an innocent smile in return. I know that what happened doesn't look so innocent but they don't have to glare at me.

Once I get myself seated Kate comes back, I fill her in on what she missed when she was hiding from me. She once again seems way more excited about the situation than I am, this whole thing is giving me anxiety. I have no idea what he's up to and the endless possibilities are not helping my thoughts calm down.

I try to focus on my work for the rest of the day, Kate keeps showing me possible date ideas that Jaehyun could be thinking of. She said she'll send me some more after work, all the while Jae's fan club keeps passing by our pod giving me death stares as they go. I know they're jealous but I'm already on edge and they are not helping. I know what they're thinking is going to happen after work but I'm not ready to do that with Jaehyun, well I'm not mentally ready. I know if he tries it my body will definitely not interject, this is what I'm afraid of.

The end of the day is finally here, I collect my stuff and walk Kate to the elevator. She wishes me luck which earns me a few confused stares from my coworkers in the elevator with Kate. Before they can ask any questions when the door closes, I make my way to Jaehyun's office. My head's spinning, and my heart is racing like a stallion. I haven't been this nervous in a long time.

I finally make it to his office, I give a few knocks until the door finally comes open. I usually have to wait for him to finish but this time he's ready to go. He was really serious about his plans for tonight.

"Ready to go?"

"Unfortunately."

"Aw don't say that, I'll make this a night you won't forget. You're going to have the time of your life, trust me."

"I'm going to regret this later, fine I'll go along with your plan. Let's just get this over with."

"That's the spirit, now come this way the romance is about to start."
