Yee I'm back! how's life?

Getting right into the story!

Cloudleaf's Pov (again cause I has a plan for her >:3)

The thumping of paws, the blur of trees, the harsh ground against her pads, that's all Cloudleaf noticed as she raced after the two warriors. She was vaguely aware of Squrrielflight and Cloverpaw close behind her, but her mind was on a constant replay of that moment,

<>---------Flashback---------<>

"We need you to come with us!" Swiftstrike shouted, turning back to the camp entrance.

Cloudleaf nodded and whipped her head towards Sparrowpaw, "Find Honeypaw, inform her on the situation," She didn't see his reaction as she dashed into her den, frantically grabbing herbs off the shelves of rock and ran back to where Swiftstrike was waiting impatiently, Cloverpaw next to him. Squrrielflight pelted Petalbranch with questions, the white-brown she-cat was pacing nervously. "Let's go" Cloudleaf mumbled around the mouthful of herbs. The five cats plunged into the forest, five sets of paws pounding the earth. Cloudleaf's mind raced in circles, always coming back to one thought.

It can't happen again

<>--------End of Flashback---------<>

Cloudleaf skidded to a stop, just narrowly avoiding a collision with Petalbranch. A quick glance around told her that they had reached the rest of the dawn patrol, consisting of Cloudstripe, Eaglewing, and Finchstep. Tuning out their conversation, Cloudleaf focused on the cat on the ground,

Bramblestar

Shoving her way past the warriors, Cloudleaf dropped her herbs and crouched by the dark-furred tom, inspecting the long gash on his flank. He seemed to be unconscious, which would make transporting him easier. His breaths were shallow and uneven.

Trying to hide the fear building under her pelt, Cloudleaf flew into action, instructing the others, pressure here, marigold there, don't touch that, yes chew that up, cobweb here, move your paws.

Carefully, Cloudleaf nudged Bramblestar, trying to get a view of his other side, but she only glimpsed blood. Ignoring that, Cloudleaf turned her attention to what she could fix. The bleeding had stopped, and the polutice was in place.

She placed a shaking paw on his chest, feeling his breaths even out, though they were still shallow. there was only white noise as she worked, blocking everything else. The only thing in the world was the cat in front of her, the meaning of life, to save his.

Fear pulsed through her as she tried to work through it's paralyzing grip, the terror seemed too real, too much like...before. She trembled, securing another cobweb, trying to resist the flood inside her, the black water threatening to drag her consciousness under.

No one in the clan knew, no one knew how much this terrified her, dragging up memories she had spent years burying, trying to forget, trying to live down. telling herself it won't happen again, that it wasn't her fault, that he chose his fate. Yet she still spent some nights awake, staring at the stars, wondering, if things could have been different.

Only her brother had understood, he had reassured her. But he was gone. Since then, she struggled alone, shutting out anyone who got close, not wanting a repeat.

Now, staring at the dark brown pelt that looked too much like...his. Cloudleaf carefully set the last cobweb and stepped back, trying to calm her breathing. The voices around her suddenly crashing in as the rest of the world came back into focus.

"He may have more wounds on his right side, but until we can flip him over, there's no telling what's there."She said. The warriors let out a collective sigh of relief. Cloverpaw stepped forward as the patrol set to work on moving Bramblestar. "Is he going to be okay?" Cloudleaf drew in a shaky breath and looked down at the apprentice's round, worried eyes. "I'm not sure, the wound was very deep, and there's the possibility of another one on his right side. I can't treat that if I can't reach it."

Cloverpaw studied her with those purple eyes, they seemed to gleam with gold in the moonlight. "are you okay?" Cloudleaf was a bit surprised she'd asked that.

"I'll be fine." she lied. The flood inside was ebbing. I'll be fine, I'll be fine. Nodding uncertainly, Cloverpaw turned her attention to where the warriors had started carrying Bramblestar back to camp. "We'd better follow them." the apprentice padded towards them as Cloudleaf took one last look at the bloodstained clearing. As she turned away, she could have sworn there was a flash of eyes.
