Cloudleaf's Pov

(A little while before the end of Part 17)

"Calm down!"

Cloudleaf heard a voice that sounded like Swiftstrike's shout at the gathering crowd as Cloudleaf rushed back towards her herb supply, snagging the leaves she needed before rushing back to Bramblestar.

There was a chorus of voices outside. Some confused, others relieved or excited, a couple angry. Cloudleaf paused to glance outside. Squirrelflight was being held back by Petalbranch and was angrily yelling at no one and everyone. Cloudleaf winced in sympathy as she spotted Swiftstrike and Eaglewing trying to hold back the crowd of cats. She knew she should probably settle this.

Cloudleaf dropped the herbs by Bramblestar (who had just woken up) and whispered, "be right back." before slipping out of her den and standing in front of the mob.

The warriors calmed down a bit when they saw their medicine cat, and Squirrelflight shouted the question Cloudleaf assumed most were wondering.

"Bramblestar's awake?"

Cloudleaf nodded and held up a paw for silence before the shouts could resume.

"No visitor's yet-" More yelling. Cloudleaf yowled over them, "it'll be at least a day before any of you can see him. For now, peace and quiet would be welcome. " She ducked back into her den, ignoring the questions being fired at her back.

"Cloudleaf...?"

Cloudleaf turned back to Bramblestar, "yes, it's me. Don't move" She carefully changed the dressing on his flank wound. His eyes flickered open, "What..." Cloudleaf set her tail tip over his mouth, "the dusk patrol found you in the forest and brought you back." Bramblestar glanced around, taking in his surroundings. "How long..."

"-Were you out? About a day or so."

Cloudleaf nudged some water-soaked moss towards him and he lapped at it gratefully. "The clan's going crazy out there," He noted, nodding at the entrance to the den, where shouts could still be heard. Cloudleaf snorted, "Their leader went missing then was found mortally wounded an unconscious. Of course they freak out. Especially when he finally wakes up." Cloudleaf applied a polutice to one of his minor scratches, pretending not to notice when he winced.

"Now I better get out there before something happens." Cloudleaf glanced back at Bramblestar as she stood up, "Don't move from your nest or else you'll have to wait an extra quarter moon to get out of here." Bramblestar shot her an amused glance before nodding, "Yes Cloudleaf." Cloudleaf slipped out of the den and faced the crowd. It'd dispersed a little, but the remaining warriors were still eager for answers. They caught sight of Cloudleaf and immediately began a flow of questions. This time, Cloudleaf spotted the three apprentices and their mentors in the crowd.

"Is Bramblestar okay?"

"Can we see him?"

"How long until-"

Squrrielflight cut them off,

"Cloudleaf. You are going to let me see him or so help me I will break through the entrance."
