If Only You Knew (Gryfferin Au)

  "Now what do we do?" Godric asked Salazar who was walking back and forth in their room, trying to figure out a way. "I don't know. We have promised Rowena to meet her in like... An hour and i don't want to get one more of us in trouble." Salazar replied.

"All i know is that we are gonna find out who that girl really is and we'll do it tonight." he continued. Godric stared at his friend in shock. "But... How...?" Godric asked himself.   

  After a while, they both changed into more casual clothes. Salazar wearing a grey shirt with black pants and Godric wearing a yellow t-shirt with some brown pants.

  Salazar had his cloak ready over his head and Godric was standing just a few steps away from Salazar, watching him.

Salazar looked over to Godric and gave him a 'what are you waiting for' look and said "get under it" Godric let out a small laugh and Salazar playfully said " No no no don't you dare say that's what she said. Just don't. That joke goes back to when goblins were still scary." Godric shrugged his shoulders and went under the cloak.

  They carefully went down the dormitory's stairs when they heard a BOOM followed by a feminine "ouch" comimg from the window behind them. They automatically turned around and found the source of the sound. Rowena.

  She had got in the boys dormitory through an open window. Both of the boys immediately thought.. How?! They let go of the cloak and stared at the very confused Rowena.

As soon as her eyes met theirs she gasped in fear but then, she got up and asked while running towards the boys "Are you two okay? I got the news. You are idiots. Legit idiots. I hope you've planned this better than you planned taking care of your pet, Salazar."  He smirked at Rowena's words and replied "Are we leaving or not?"
  
  All three of them got under the cloak and with a swing of her wand "Alahumura" Rowena opened the door and the three of them walked out silently.

The risk of getting caught was so high. They experienced so many near misses when walking in the corridors.

Rowena was leading the boys to a section they didn't know about and they very slowly and gently opened the dormitory's door.

Right in the middle of the main area, two young witches were having a duel and none of them could beat the other one.

As they were observing the room, they were reading the name tags on every room's door, searching for Nemusa's name.

Godric found the room and informed his friends by poking them and pointing at the room.

   The main area wasnt that crowded. There were around 8 witches sitting on the armchairs, couches or the rocking chairs which made moving around and remaining unnoticed easier.

As soon as they got to Nemusa's room the door opened wide and a witch came out of there, holding Nemusa's hand and dragging her out too. It was easy to see that she wasn't happy to be out.
  
  "That was...close " Salazar whispered to his friends. They entered the now empty room and there was a huge book open on a desk.

As soon as they stepped out of the cloak, Salazar and Rowena ran towards the book.

Meanwhile Godric was putting a spell on the door to keep it shut even if anyone tried to open it. "Come on. Be as quick as possible. I'm not sure how long this spell will keep them away if they tried to open the door. They're older and stronger than us."

  Godric warned. "Yeah yeah... Older or younger... They are still women." Salazar replied. Rowena gave him a death glare and said "Im goimg to make you regret saying that as soon as we're out you jerk." Salazar didnt say anything. Compeletly ignoring her.

After reading some pages of the book and analyzing it carefully, Salazar closed it causing Rowena to want to punch him.

"I was reading that." Rowena protested. Salazar replied "We need to get out right now. Take the book. We're out of here." and with that, he fetched the cloak and the three of them got under it, Rowena having the book with her.

Godric stopped the spell as they were about to leave, but suddenly the door opened wide and Nemusa entered. She was all calm until her eyes caught the empty dest. "WHAT? WHERE IS THE VAULT OF NATURE?" she asked angrily which sent shiver down the boys and Rowena's entire body.

Her roommate entered the room to check on her after hearing her scream when Nemusa ran towards her and held her wrists in her tight fists and yelled "HAVE YOU TOOK THE BOOK? WHERE IS IT?" Poor girl just looked at her friend in confusion and asked "Is this a sick joke? What are you doing? Why would i have anything to do with your book?" Nemusa then let go of her and said

"I was standing right infront of the door. No one went in or out. Unless.. There was already someone here. Lock the door. NOW!"

  she told her friend and the girl obeyed. Nemusa then transformed into a dog and not a very cute one but one with dark blue fur and started sniffing all around the room. Getting closer and closer to the corner where they were hiding at.

 Godric thought of something so he took out his wand and screamed "DISAPPARATE" and they all diasspeared and reappeared in the boys dormitory.

As soon as they reappeared, they were all on the ground. "Is..is everyone in one piece..?" Godric asked while breathing heavily. "I'm here. I still have the book." Rowena replied. But nothing came from Salazar.

"Sa..Salazar?" Godric asked still breathing heavily. And still nothing. He pulled himself off the ground and crawled towards Solazar.

Salazar was heavily injured. His face had 3 big and deep scars. His once perfectly fit grey shirt was now ripped. Godric felt hurt. So hurt that he couldn't think straight. He was mad at himself. What had he done? What had he done to the one person who he loved and adored more than all?
 
  Rowena also pulled herself up and said "Come on. You need to take him to your room. I'll go ahead and sneak in some potions and organic dust. Put him on his bed with his blanket over him. As if he's asleep. And for Merlin's sake, hide this book somewhere no one can find. It seemed to be important. We should hide it til Salazar is up again." and with that, she left the room.

Before anything, Godric hid the book behind the fireplace and motioned his wand. "Uslo" and the book was invisible.

Then he quickly got back to Salazar. He picked up his friend's body and climbed the stairs leading up to their room. The room was dark. If he didnt have a mental image of where everything was it would have been impossible to find the beds.

He gently placed his friend's body on the bed and placed the blanket over him.

Godric was planning on sitting next to him after lighting the candles on but after lighting them on... He wished he would have remained in the darkness of the room forever. Not ever even thinking about turning the lights on so that he didn't have to see what was infront of him. Or better say WHO was infront of him.

  "Honestly, life could not treat me any better. And you know what us muggle borns say. When life gives you lemons, make lemonades. And mark my words. I am thirsty."
