A Hero

Chapter 1

"Come on Shoto! Stop being so damn weak! You're studying at U.A for a reason!"

The teen was on his knees, crying and begging for his father to stop. His efforts were all in vain when a punch came at his already injured stomach, causing him to cough out more blood and vomit.

Pain was all he felt when plunging onto the ground, the immense pain coming from his stomach being the cause as to why he couldn't move much.

"Pathetic... I created you for a reason! And that is to surpass All Might! Don't your dare expect to stay home from school tomorrow!" Enji yelled, rushing out of the training room and heading off to patrol the city.

Once Fuyumi heard the front door close, she rushed to Shoto's aid.

"I'm sorry Shoto..." She muttered many apologizes towards her younger brother, tears threatening to fall from the corners of her eyes.

"No need to apologize sis... I-I'm okay" The younger struggled out, giving a small but visible smile to hopefully reassure his sister.

Fuyumi helped her brother to his room where she then started treating his injuries. "You should go shower to wash off the blood." She suggested, earning a nod from her younger brother.

Once in the bathroom, he turned on the water and waited for the right temperature. Fuyumi brought him new clothes and a towel, setting it on top of a counter.

The hot water caused the teen to wince in pain as it touched his skin, lowering the temperature down a bit before preparing himself to get in.

Once Shoto got out from the shower, he looked at the mirror and spotted a noticeable bruise on his left eye.

"Shit." He cursed under his breath, wondering what he'll have to do in order to hide his injury. Having it not covered and hidden would cause his classmates and teachers to ask questions.

What'll be his excuse this time?

Letting out a heavy sigh, Shoto ignored for now and proceeded to change into fresh new clothes Fuyumi brought him.

"Hey Shoto, you done? I need to put bandages on you." Fuyumi said.

After a minuet, Shoto opened the door and let his older sister in.

"Shoto..." She called, carefully applying the last few bandages.

"Yes?" He replied, giving a curious look.

"The bruise on your left eye...it's noticeable".

Shoto sighed, looking down to the ground before replying. "Yeah... I know."

"You want me to cover it?" She asked. "Yeah." Shoto replied.

Fuyumi proceeded to walk over to the first aid kit and took out more bandages, taking numbing cream along with painkillers as well.

She rubbed the cream and then wrapped his eye. "Take these, I'll get some water." Fuyumi said, handing Shoto the pills before walking out of the room.

Shoto winced in pain as he laid down on his futon. A good two minutes later passed when Fuyumi came back into the room with some water. "You can take one right now and then one in the morning, I also recommend to take one to school tomorrow." She suggested while handing him the water bottle.

Shoto did as he was told and swallowed the painkiller with the help of the water. "Thank you, Fuyumi" The teen was truly grateful that his older sister was always there to patch him up right after training.

Things were hard for them, but they both hoped for the best.

"Goodnight Shoto... sleep well."

Fuyumi quietly closed the door to her younger brother's room and headed back to her own, siting against the door before bursting into tears.

"Why can't we be a normal family." She wondered, quietly sobbing to herself.

It was hard for Shoto to sleep, his recent nightmares always kept him awake all night.

"You're so weak! You're so pathetic! You're a disgrace!"

His fathers words would repeat over and over in those nightmares.

"Your left side is unbearable..."

His mothers words would repeat over and over in his head.

The nightmares would haunt him everyday and he would always wake up crying or with his quirks acting up, but today, Shoto didn't care anymore and drifted off to sleep.
