Chapter 4

It was early in the morning when Rei had an unexpected visitor. The door slid open revealing no one "Shoto?" She asked in a nervous tone. She slowly walked towards the door "Very Funny...you can come out now..." she said while nervously laughing.

Reaching the door Rei looked to the left side of the hallway. She found a small box "What's thi-" She was cut off by a man with a black hoodie who stabbed a knife through her gut, she screamed in pain as she fell to the floor.

Her vision was getting blurry, Rei looked at the man and gasped as tears started to fall "W-Why...?" She managed to say through all the pain before passing out.

I'm sorry...Shoto...I'm sorry...Fuyumi...Nastuo...

When the doctors and nurses heard screaming they rushed to the spot but were minutes too late.

"She's...not breathing...there's no pulse"

Shoto woke up from the sound of his alarm, he tuned it off and got ready for school. I wonder if I can visit her today he thought to himself while changing into uniform.
The class left the dorms together and proceeded walking towards the school building.
"Next time one of you losers wake me up, I'm gonna kill you!" Bakugo yelled.
"You were gonna sleep in if we didn't" Kirishima said laughing a bit.
"I can wake myself up!" Bakugo yelled.
"How the hell do you have this much energy in the morning?" Kaminari complained.
"I know right, I'm still half asleep" Kirishima agreed.
The class arrived to the classroom, they took their seats and waited for their teacher.

Minutes later Aizawa came in the classroom looking a bit worried "Todoroki, come with me for a sec" he said, the students gave worried and confused looks as the teen proceeded to leave the classroom."Is there something wrong?" He asked, Aizawa nodded.

I wonder what it could be?

Aizawa slid the door open to the principals office "I'm afraid I have some very bad news" Nezu said facing the teen.

Bad news?

"Earlier this morning...your mother, Rei Todoroki was found dead".
The sentence struck Shoto like a bullet "W-What?" He questioned.

"It appears that she was murdered...we don't know who killed her, the police are still trying to figure it out"

The room was silent, Shoto's bangs covered his eyes.

"I-I see...I'll be heading back to class now" he said before leaving the office. Shoto wasn't really going to head back to class, Aizawa and principal Nezu already knew. Instead, he left the school and headed back to the dorms.

"Earlier this morning...your mother, Rei Todoroki was found dead"

Shoto opened the door to his room, he locked it and sat in the corner.

Mom...

Tears uncontrollably started running down his face.

Homeroom was over so Present Mic was already teaching his class. Aizawa entered the classroom after the bell rang for lunch. "What are you guys still doing here?" He asked looking a bit surprised to see everyone still in their seats.
"Where's Todoroki-Kun?" Iida asked sounding a bit worried.
Aizawa sighed "He's back at the dorms".
"Why? Did something happen?" Kirishima asked.
"I'm counting on you guys to help him so I'm gonna tell you the story" Aizawa started, the class wore confused expressions on their faces.
"Earlier this morning his mother was found dead outside her hospital room" He said, the students didn't know what to say so Aizawa continued talking.
"She didn't die of natural cause...she was murdered".

Shoto's been crying for what seemed to be like minutes to him. He didn't realize how much time passed until he looked at his phone, school was about to be over.

"Do you guys think he's okay?" Mina asked.
"No...who wouldn't be...to find out that your mom was murdered..." Kirishima replied. Everyone felt bad for the teen, but they knew that there really isn't much they could do besides comfort him. After classes were over, they headed back to the dorms. Aizawa suggested to go talk to him, and comfort him so the class made their way to Shoto's room.

Shoto heard a knock on his door.
"Todoroki-Kun? You in there? We are all here and we all wanted to make sure your okay so...are you okay?"

No reply.

"We heard what happened to your mother-" Midoriya stopped when he heard a quiet sob, he really wanted to help his friend but...
"Let's come back later and give him some time and space" Yaoyorozu suggested, everyone agreed and either headed to their rooms or down to the common area.

The tears stopped flowing when he remembered something.

"It appears that she was murdered..."

Shoto clenched his fists and gritted his teeth,

I'll find you...and when I do...I'll make you pay.

Shoto stood up, headed to the bathroom, took a shower, then got dressed and made his way downstairs.

The class were surprised to see the teen, they didn't expect him to be going somewhere at this hour.
"Todoroki-Kun? Where are you going?" Iida asked walking towards him followed by his other classmates. The class then got a good look at his eyes, they were full of...
Hate, anger and rage.
"I'll be back" he said before shutting the door close. Iida recognized that face, he too has been there. He too was blinded by his selfish desire for revenge.
"I'm going with him" Iida said putting on his shoes. "Wait Iida! Let me go too!" Midoriya said also putting on his shoes.
"Iida, Midoriya...you should let him be" Yaoyorozu said, the others agreed.

"Midoriya...you saw it too didn't you?" Iida said opening the door.
"Yeah...we have to stop him, the same thing that happened to you...will happen to him if we don't" Midoriya replied.
The two left the dorms "Guys!" The class tried to convince them but they didn't listen. Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, and Uraraka decided to go and follow them.

Whoever you are...you better watch yourself...
