The first thing Shoto felt when he woke up was pain, a lot of pain.

The pain came from the bruises and soreness throughout his entire body. Getting up and ready for school won't be an easy task, he already knew that much when making an effort to sit up from his futon.

Damn...

Even if he didn't want to, the young lad got up and did his best to endure the intense pain surging throughout his body while doing his daily routine to get ready for school.

Washing his face, getting dressed, taking a painkiller, grabbing his bag and a quick snack before heading out the door and onto the streets.

The younger noticed that his older sister wasn't anywhere around the house before leaving.

Assuming she was already at work, he sent a quick text saying he's off to school, receiving one from her a few minutes after sending his.

Fuyumi: Be carful and have a good day, Shoto!

The text made the teen smile for some reason, but his smile quickly faded away when intense pain struck him.

"Shit." He cursed under his breath. Although the random stings of pain made it a bit uncomfortable to walk in, Shoto ignored it and did his best to endure until arriving at the train station.

It was no surprise that people gave him weird and curious glances here and there, his left eye was covered in bandages after all.

Just watching and feeling as the many eyes gazed at him caused the younger boy to worry on what his teachers or classmates would think or react.

I have to come up with a good excuse that's actually believable. He thought to himself, hovering a hand over the bandages that covered his left eye.

Getting off the train and heading towards the school building, Shoto thought of some things on his way to school but concluded with the best and most believable excuse he could think of.

—Location: U.A High School—

The halls and classrooms were pretty much empty when entering the building, questions wouldn't be asked anytime soon for Shoto, which he was thankful for.

Opening the door to his homeroom classroom, he noted that no one was there yet. The lad honestly expected the class representative to be here since he always showed up minutes earlier than him or anyone else.

Seeing that he wasn't, Shoto used this as an opportunity to get a bit of extra sleep before any noise was able to fill up the classroom.

A few minutes passed when he heard the door open, revealing the class representative.

"Good morning Todoroki-Kun! What brings you here this early? And what happened to your eye?" Iida asked, walking towards the teen.

"I woke up early." Shoto yawned, hoping to avoid the second question Iida threw.

"I see, I'm glad someone finally understands that U.A students are supposed to be here 10 minutes early! Anyways... your eye? What happened?" Iida asked again, concern hinted in his voice.

10 minutes early...?

"This was just an accident that occurred during training yesterday." He simply replied, pointing at his bandaged eye.

"That's unfortunate, make sure to be carful next time!" The class representative obviously lectured a bit more before heading towards his assigned seat.
